Can you help estimate battery health for me?

Find an independent local garage with a decent professional OBD reader , drop them a few quid for a quick plug in and read. ( if it's not as expected, try to get a printout ).

    Weight for it

Or, the old Gypsy trick of having a 45 gallon barrel filled with water hidden in your load then when unloading a lorry load of scrap steel at the scrapyard removing the drain plug to accumulate the before and after weighbridge readings.

    What Are You Drinking Tonight?

Not sure could be a French brewery. The French and Multi- Nationals tend to use glucose/corn syrup to increase the sugar and ABV as well as malt. As a bit of a beer snob I prefer the German ( lidl ) based breweries who by German law can only use malt. Next time I see it I'll try to take a...

    Weight for it

About 60% , which is a damned good question ? E = MC 2 which means energy should have mass . Somebody else can work it out exactly, but in everyday use , having a fart and opening the window should in theory make the car lighter than running down the battery. 😀 Next time I'll go to...

    What Are You Drinking Tonight?

Some of the bigger supermarkets have a wider range of selections . The highest ABV I've seen is 15% . Not partaken in that one , stronger than a lot of wine , although must admit , it keeps winking at me when I pass by. Even Lidl do 10 and 12% versions , again not tried.

    Weight for it

Just picked a couple of sacks of sheep food from the feed mill were they have just installed a weigh bridge with digital readout. Before loading, stopped on said weighbridge and the total came to 1780 kg . Knock off 100 kg of Lancashire beef stock in the drivers seat and around 15 kg of dog...

What I don't understand about these 'safety' features.

Many years ago we had a small contract job at BNFL . There was a two hour induction course before we were allowed into the main buildings to do our job . Part of the course was listening to all the different alarms ( about 15 ) which could go off and what differing procedures to follow on...

What Made You Choose An MG?

The badge was a small factor but as a lot of Citroen/Renault drivers point out in car parks, and this is a loose translation missing out the unspoken knowing smirks and slight nods of heads, "It iz very nice, mais eez not a vrai MG, c,est Chinois, iz he not?" 🤷‍♂️ Still practising, but not...

Test your MG4 battery to understand low range

The OPs high school maths in #4 are basically faulty , two minutes on a calculator putting in different values for the constantly changing kwh/100km value ( the final value is not an average in real life ) and a constant kilometric value gives different results , not even accounting for regen...

    What Are You Drinking Tonight?

Any crafty style beers here are pretty pricey for a small bottle , and not in keeping with the MG philosophy of cheap and cheerful , but with a chance of going blind . 😀

At 72 cents a can , I can't afford more than one.:( and without the additives is quite bland.

    What Are You Drinking Tonight?

A can of cheap Lidl 8% beer which is OK , but we have some chopped up liquorice root , add a tea spoon full with a lump of brown sugar and just cover with boiling water . Leave to cool , strain and add to said beer . Ruddy wonderful. 😵‍💫
