What tyres are you going for?

I replaced mine with Goodyear Vector 4Seasons. Unbelievable improvement over the original. No wheel spin, and seem much quieter too

    Eco,N or S and Kers 1,2 or 3 research

Yes, a bit like pulling off in 2nd gear in slippery conditions

    Eco,N or S and Kers 1,2 or 3 research

In my view KERs settings don't make any difference to energy saving in an MG5, it's just a matter of personal preference. If the car slows down it charges the battery. On KERs 1 you may have to dab the brakes, but they don't use the actual pads unless you stand on them or come to a stop anyway...

Electric windows all go down at random !

I don't know on the HS, but on my MG5, if I hold down the unlock button on my key for about 3 seconds it lowers all the windows. Similarly holding down the lock button closes them all. I've had to put a card on my keyring that blocks the buttons while they're in my pocket!

People who bought the SE or Trophy, do you wish you'd gone for the other model?

People keep saying that things run off the 12v battery, which they do, but the point is the 12v battery is charged from the HV battery, so basically even the wipers are using HV battery power!

The main point of the heated seats is they draw about 40 watts, whereas the heating uses about 3000 watts. So the both use power from the HV battery, but the heated seats make very little difference to range.

    MG5 Long Range - real range ?

My SR MG5, normally shows 213 after a full charge. In daily use I tend to get 2 miles per percent. I've never driven it to empty, but going by percentages it would cover 180 miles in winter, more in summer. I've had it a year and done 6000 miles, with some long trips.

    Mute volume in reverse

I suspect that if you select reverse, you can then adjust the "reverse volume" using the volume controls!

SMETS 1 and SMETS 2 installs for EV tariffs.

When my supplier went bust, I was moved to EDF. They said my B. Gas. Landis & Gyr "dumb" Smart Meters would be updated to work, and they were working within about a month! I don't know whether they are good enough for Octopus though, but they are sending readings every 30 minutes.

Experience from my first long drive

You would actually be better on KERs 1 on motorway trips, if you slow down you have to use power to speed up, and the power gained in slowing down is far less due to inefficiency! It's best to sort of float along looking ahead and trying to avoid slowing down and speeding up.

MG5 KERS 3 & Brake Light Operation - Safety Recall?

I'd never used Kers 3 until I had the update done, after which I used it to check the lights coming on at night. I must admit I was expecting it to be more severe than it seems to be. It's a bit more than Kers 2 but not greatly so on my car. Whether the update impacted it I don't know, as I'd...

    Which home charging point

I too have a Wallbox Pulsar Plus, and it has been faultless for the last year.

Drivers door window controls not working.

There was a driver's door wiring recall for the ZS. Might be worth checking yours has been done.

    245 Mile Trip

I think traveling at 55mph on the motorway in a car is causing HGVs to have to pull out to overtake as they're restricted to 56mph. You should speed up a bit to prevent this. I note that in my MG5 the Speedo is spot on, whereas all my previous ice cars have been about 10% too fast. So...

Real experience of driving SR Trophy on a long journey

I have the Wickes extension lead, and use it on my MG5. The Granny lead is very thick, but I found it easy to trim the rubber seal on the extension lead using some sharp nail scissors (pointed with narrow blades). The lead now fits really well with a good seal.
