Hi Mattdav,
Sorry for lateness of my reply. I purchased my MG ZS EV in March 2020 and it’s only done about 30k. I’ve now successfully claimed against the MG dealership, Glyn Hopkin Ltd. using section 75 credit card support. I must say that Barclaycard were must professional and helpful...
Hi Lovemyev,
Here’s a copy and paste from the quotation I received for the seat repair:-
1. MG- LX20 MX:
Driver seat base bolster (left side of the seat base – in/out section).
The cover is made of Vinyl that start to crack along the entire length of the bolster.
Problems like this usually...
I’m sorry to hear of your car problem. I purchased my MG ZS EV in March 2020 and have been very pleased with it. However last year the drivers seat base cushion started to split and so I returned it to Glyn Hopkin in North London where I expected them to repair/replace the faulty seat...
Yes, you’re correct. Mine is a gen 1 and I’ve been pursuing MG for a few years. I understand from claims experts that I have up to six years within which to make a claim for ‘not fit for purpose’ and I originally went down this route. However having visited two respected MG dealersips, one...
I’m currently going through the process making a formal claim against MG as they won’t entertain repairing or replacing my driver’s seat cushion on my ZS EV which is suffering from degradation on the offside. I have been asked to submit an independent report with costings for remediation. I...
My ZS EV is 5 years old and only done just over 30k miles, and MG won’t repair or replace the faulty seat. I am now going through the process of making a section 75 claim. Watch this space!
I love the car, but their warranty and after sales customer care is appalling.
I’m so very very disappointed with MG. I’ve done less than 30k in my MG ZS EV and yet my driver seat is splitting. (See photos) I took it to an MG franchise albeit not the one I purchased my new vehicle from, and was sadly told the seats only have a twelve month warranty! I’ve had 29 cars...
Sounds a brilliant project, well done! We have 14 solar panels, 13.5kWh batteries and type 2 charger. Our mk1 MG ZS is mostly powered by our lovely free sunshine.
Would appreciate photographs of your setup.
My MG ZS EV is booked in on 3rd July to assess my warranty claim for the seat material cracking. We’ll see how the franchise responds. I know the splits aren’t very big yet, but it doesn’t bode well for the future…
I’ve just checked and discovered three tiny flaps in the material in my drivers seat squab on the right hand side, and I’ve only drive 26k miles so far.
Please let me know how you get on claiming under warranty if you go down that avenue?
I’m with Intelligent Octopus Go, and it works really well with my Zappi & Eddi. All car charging, domestic water heating and dish washer was using off peak rate. On high solar generation days Zappi & Eddi automatically take surplus generation.
Just had GivEnergy AIO batteries installed and...
Yes indeed Tim, a/c uses some power, but I understand it uses less power than heating. Also being retired I have more time available for recharging, and most important I like to drive as safely as possible.
Signed up to IO about 19 days ago after several attempts. Works really well. Done a bump charge and lots of small 10% off peak 7.5p/kWh charges. I’ve discovered that I need to leave the Zappi in Eco++ mode when I plug in and Octopus handle from there.
