Thanks for your respect. I've clearly aggravated you by pointing out your initial post wasn't entirely correct.
Is it common ground between us that that only cars bought before May 2022 were in fact sold before Tesla superchargers became available to other makes in the UK?
Unsurprisingly MG...
I was just making what I assumed to be a non-controversial point that if an item is misdescribed at sale then the seller should meet the full cost of fixing it. You obviously don't believe it is reasonable take at face value that when a car is described as CCS compatible it is, in fact...
All no doubt correct, but unfortunately not really relevant. If some cars had to be modified to meet their description when sold to customers, then MG should have borne the full cost. The same would apply to other manufacturers if they
charged for this repair.
This would be a mitigating argument for MG if it were true. Actually Tesla chargers became available for other vehicles in the UK in May 2022. So if you car was purchased after this, and was sold to you as CCS compatible, you were misled.
To get that price don't you have to pay an additional subscription?
I've just compared regular Tesla and Ionity charging prices in Dover and Calais. Hardly scientific but it gives an impression of whether some companies are charging over the odds in the UK compared to France. The result is...
If you are ever on your Road to Hell in future a bank of 12 Ionity Chargers have recently been installed at the Village Hotel in Aylesford (near Maidstone).
Isn't it just the new Instavolt Winchester superhub that's 65p? The others I've looked at on the app remain 87p. Still, welcome if you are in Winchester.
I've used Apple MG (Meophan) and MG Tunbridge Wells (unsurprisingly in Tunbrdge Wells). Of the 2 I much preferred the latter. They were also the cheapest for. 2nd service and washed the car.
No way of knowing for sure, until you try it. My car is December 22. It did need an update for Tesla compatibility. MG dealers are likely to charge you for this. I had quotes up to £150 if done at the same time as the annual service. In the end I complained to the Motor Ombudsman. Best part of 2...
I'm also a Tomato customer and have found them good so far. However, their statement on REGOs isn't the full picture. By purchasing REGOs suppliers generate demand for, and hence investment in, renewables. By not purchasing REGOs Tomato are not contributing to that demand.
So far as superchargers are concerned: obviously you'll only get access to those that are available to non-Tesla; given the year you are considering the car will likely need a software update to be compatible (chargeable c. £150 if you have to pay); no plug and charge on superchargers; and you...
Moving to Tomato would have changed your DD. That's what happened to me. I've now added a credit card and all back to normal. Don't think I'll bother with the octopus payment method in the future.
I have. Also my RFID card has been cancelled. I'm assuming it's because my direct debit was recently changed..
Thanks for raising this. I wouldn't have realised otherwise. No notice from Electroverse.
If you want to use a fast charger (DC and generally 50kw or higher) you won't need a cable. As others have said the cable is part of the charger. If you want to use a destination charger (AC and generally 7.2 KW in UK) you will need the type of cable Superal suggests
