I'm a shade under 6' and have rarely noticed the wide sill. Having mud flaps helps to keep crap off the sill, to minimise the risk of marking your trousers. :)

The ER has a nominal 77kWh battery pack, with about 74kWh usable (per the specs). As per above I'd be interested in how you calculated 68kWh.

Regarding the pull down menu ... this is mine, and it does have a Power Off button. (I remembered a red button - I can now confirm that it is for Power Off. I've never used it though).

As I mooted earlier, my version of that screen has a red coloured button but I can't remember exactly what it says. I'll try to remember to check next time I'm in the car.

SC077 works fine for me ... but I have an SE so I don't have the additional "assist" features that the Trophy/Luxury has.

The digital key uses Bluetooth LE (low energy) and so requires the phone to be close to the car - same as for having the key in your pocket and using the door buttons. The main BT connection is for media etc. only, not for vehicle interaction. :)

We only get 2-pin plug devices for things like electric shavers and similar. But even some devices with 3-pin plugs aren't actually earthed ... for example I have a USB charger unit in my desk drawer that has an earth pin but it is made of plastic.

Received wisdom is that the former applies ... the <10% (or whatever, depending on car model) to 100% and balance charge should be done on an AC charge point and in a single, contiguous session.

I have an SE so no rear camera, but my display got the distance indication when I got 1100R33. 1100R13 didn't have it. (I don't know if R16 or R21 introduced it).

To be fair, after the last round of updates my SE SR is fine - no issues with LKA, ACC/TJA or HVAC.

Charge when it is convenient (e.g. you need a comfort break anyway), not when it is necessary. Plan your stops on that expectation. (Like above, I'll need a comfort break after about 100 miles, which is typically 1.5 to 2 hours). Which model of MG4 do you have? Your distance between charges...

As far as I know, 97% is pretty much the maximum you can get at a DC rapid charger anyway ... the power delivery drops to such a low level at around that SoC that the charger decides enough is enough. :)

MG (SAIC) claim not ... but I don't believe them. The car is capable of coming to a complete stop when using ACC/TJA, so the car is hardware-capable. Perhaps it's a different hardware arrangement in the earlier models so would involve different software coding ... coding = cost for no direct...

What was your mobile reception like there? I know that the Wenea chargers in Luss are useless as you need to use an app to start and stop a charge .. and there's basically no mobile reception where the chargers are sited 🙄

You'll be unlikely to get anywhere near 200 miles on a motorway (if you're doing 70) ... even in summer. Work on the basis of 180 miles max in summer, 140 miles max in winter. Given my bladder range, I'd be stopping for a comfort break after about 100 miles anyway, so I'd plug in to a DC rapid...

Which central screen? The one in the car? If yes, bear in mind that @Archev has a Citroen Berlingo EV not an MG (of any variety. He used to have an MG5).

If it has a screen then it should have a Stop button on it? Or swipe your phone/card again? (This is the default procedure). PS I've checked in the app and I can't select a stall and stop it charging remotely, sorry, as I didn't start the charge from the app. Can you stop charging from within...

Agreed. Back when I got mine, when the only option was list price, the SE LR was £2.5k more expensive than the SE SR ... £2.5k buys you a hell of a lot of kWh, even at motorway prices. I rarely do trips which exceed the range of the SE SR, so it was a no-brainer for me. :)

The Trophy has additional driver assist features, electrically folding wing mirrors, electrically adjustable front seats, heated seats and steering wheel, fake leather trim, and additional cameras that allow a top-down 360° view (as well as a reversing camera ... not sure if the later SE spec...

That's a fair question ... it's certainly not mentioned in the Owner Manual (that I could see, by looking at the Discharging section).

It also "sees" lane lines and other vehicle types ... that's how the left 3rd of the driver display is activated. :)

A drive-by skim by a contactless reader is very easily done - if your card is in a pocket that is reasonably accessible (e.g. back pocket of your trousers). It's for this reason that many people now have shielded wallets for their cards. :)

The effect is the same ... the "plug to plug" arrangement would send V2L power into the ring main circuit that it is plugged into. This still has the same earthing risk as you can't isolate the earth at the consumer unit. So no, we're not conflating two issues - they both are risky and...

I've already told you why it's not safe ... if the earth line gets a voltage on it (which is possible because the car V2L is floating) then someone working on the power supply to your house (i.e. upstream) may get a shock; and that shock has the potential to be lethal. That "UK Power guy" needs...

The problem with a boiler system is the pipework ... that will be earthed, and will probably share the earth with the boiler. Thus when connecting to V2L it's not much different from connecting V2L to your consumer unit - the same (upstream) earth risks apply.

The circuit breakers don't isolate the earth ... that's the real problem as it means someone working upstream on the feed to your house may encounter voltage on the earth line, which could be a safety issue. (The V2L power has a floating earth).

That's the China price? Eminently possible. Once you add shipping, tariffs, VAT etc. to it you can pretty much double the price for the UK.

#1 It was always suggested that when sitting at traffic lights one should apply the handbrake to avoid blinding the driver behind at night with your brake lights. So no, that wasn't a fault with traditional handbrakes #2 I agree that applying the "handbrake" whilst the vehicle is in motion...

Are you inflating the tyres enough? I'd recommend 38 psi all round. If yes and the issue still occurs, then it's either a software problem or one or more of the pressure sensors is faulty. I looked in the warranty document and couldn't find any mention of pressure or sensor, so (to me) that...

I'm surprised that using the EPB (i.e. pulling up the lever) applies the brake lights ... unless it only does this when you're still moving. After all it is the equivalent of using a handbrake. I can understand there being no brake light in regen 1, but I'm surprised that regen 2 doesn't put it on.

It's a charge as stated, using an AC charge point and it is done (anecdotally) in one complete go - no stops in the middle. The purpose is to recalibrate the BMS so that the GOM (Guess-O-Meter) becomes more accurate. It should be done at least once a year, preferably once every 6 months.

To be fair, the Radstone isn't in Larkhall itself - it's almost a mile outside of it. PS - don't wear green if going to Larkhall. Even the traffic lights have wire mesh over the green light. Blue is fine though. ;)

My battery icon turns yellow when SoC drops below 10%, and turns red when below 5%. In both cases this happens whilst driving - no need to get out and lock/unlock/open.

Mine is also v3.0.1 on Android, with no further updates available.
