Save Settings

I very much doubt it. It's like getting features that are on a Windows 11 computer to run in XP and visa versa. They are both the same base but the software has evolved.
It's nothing to do with a problem making any software enhancements, that would be very easy to do. It's all to do with marketing and sales. If a manufacturer kept enhancing products that are already sold and in the market with features on newer models, it would severly impact new sales. Sure, a few would throw their toys out of the pram and claim they would never 'buy' an MG again but the majority will simply upgrade when they feel they need to. Manufacturers won't care about the minority as it won't have any impact their revenue in any meaningful way. Same with ALL manufacturers.

Since the MG S5 DOES allow you to save your customised preferences for most (all?) Driver Assist functions, and then restore all of them with a couple of menu selections ... surely this software functionality could be retrofitted to the MG4. Especially since the MG4 and MG S5 share a common platform.
I'm sure it could be "fixed" in a few strokes of code as it's likely already a parameter available. However, as MG want to spend as little money as possible on after sales support they are not going to bother making any changes.

It's the same reasoning as to why OPD has not been retrofitted to the earlier MG4 cars ... it would cost time and money to do so, for no obvious benefit to MG. (I don't believe the "hardware isn't compatible" line that was extolled ... ACC can bring the car to a complete stop, so the hardware is capable).
