only 31 miles after full charge...

Keep in mind the difference between 31 and 32 might well be the difference between 31.99999 and 32.0, and if you note the actual mileage done between charges you'll often see a little extra the regen puts back.

    Charging issues using Free Chargers

When I had mine, I found it helped to pull the car plug in and out a few times which I think gave the contact pins a bit of a clean-off. Others have said it helps to lift the rear of the plug assembly to ensure the top two pins are firmly engaged whilst the car chats with the charger. On a type...

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

When I had my HS PHEV delivered, long story short, I found that a connector in the main fuse box on the right under the bonnet hadn't been properly tightened and was shorting. It was the red heavy duty cable on a 200amp fuse that charges the 12v battery from the EV battery, located back right in...

    Android auto slow

I'm now driving a Hyundai Tucson. Same phone, same cable, no issues with delay on Google maps. All the evidence seem to point to the problem being the processing capacity of the MG display system.

    Android auto

This has come up before .. it's previously been attributed to the cable but that seems unlikely in this case. My previous phone had to be unlocked for it to work, my relatively new Samsung 22 didn't. Some people have resorted to using WiFi (or possibly Bluetooth) adapters in the USB socket and...

    Android auto slow

That was my experience with a very similar set up. If you press and hold the home button, a clock appears on the screen, and it seems to reset and clear out data. Press it again to bring back the home screen and Google Maps will be OK 'til the available data capacity fills up again.

    Today's the day ... HS being part ex'ed ..

Happy with the Tucson. A very different car to the HS HEV so not going to attempt what would be a pretty pointless comparison - but: The one thing that really stands out is a very obvious difference in ride and noise levels. The Tucson is well within normal limits, but we now fully appreciate...

Farhenheit to Celsius on my display MG EHS

A known and much discussed issue. My dealer said they had a software fix, had the car for a day but didn't fix it. Consensus seems to be that the display unit needs to come out and go back to MG. I didn't bother with that.

    Today's the day ... HS being part ex'ed ..

Dealer called me in December asking us to come in as they had some 'fantastic' offers on trade-ins. I had no intention of changing out my ES until the 4 yr lease was up, but as the cost of electric motoring is now the same or higher than petrol, and the car is starting to develop some of the...

    Driving On Petrol Only ?

Yep, was very happy running about locally at 7.5p a mile when I bought it.

    Android auto slow

I inadvertently upgraded Google Maps to the latest version last week, and have also got the latest Android Auto. Initially thought the lag on the location of the vehicle on the map had been fixed as I was only doing local runs. Found out yesterday on a long run that it hasn't. It's...

    Driving On Petrol Only ?

I drove 230 miles on Thursday to see family. Started off with a full tank of petrol and a full battery - had a good run on the motorway and noted 38mpg for the run, with 16 miles EV left. Ran around locally for a couple of days and had 4 miles EV left yesterday evening when I set off to return...

    The Fahrenheit issue ...

Sorry - should have updated. Sadly not. Consensus on other forums seems to be that that the unit has to go back to MG somewhere. As I'm trading mine in soon I've filed it as someone else's problem.

Type 2 to Type 2 cable for sale.

The dealers I bought the HS from made me an offer I couldn't refuse on PX for a new car recently, so the PHEV is going and we're getting a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. I have a 5m T2 to T2 cable I won't need any more. As new, used about 6 times ... It's one of these...

    Query fuel use results

My per-trip mpg on motorway runs is 37, around 6.4L/100Km. That's with two passengers and luggage. Long term, adjusted for the EV input, it's been around 64mpg, but keep in mind you've had to pay for the charging to inflate the mpg to that level. When I got mine two years ago the cheaper...
