Heated seats?

The heated seats are very fast and use way less energy than the main heating system. The inconvenient for me is that it's too hot, I usually turn them off once ambient in the car is comfortable enough
They seem to get too hot until the regulator cuts in then settle down a bit lower.

on a different subject..(I started the topic, so I can change to something else) I thought I would be charging it maybe once a month, maybe once every six weeks..but nar it seems like every otherday?…went out this morning to my mums with 75% battery came home and I’m down to 44%…stuck it on charge as out tomorrow and Saturday…Sunday as well..boy am I busy..the joys of having young daughters, that need there nails done and of course will want a lift to the otherside of the world to get them done..and she wonders why an Uber cost so much to get there…

I think you have to appreciate that the range of the battery is not the same as what it was on your diesel car? Maybe you got 500 miles out of that?

You've got about half or less of that, and you have some caution built in where you aren't going lower than 10%.

You have to offset the frequency against the fact it is a lot more convenient to charge from home than driving to a fuel station.

On balance, for me, it's better. Just plug it in over night, enjoy the cheap electric and wake up to a full charge. Good times.

Cheap electricity?…what’s that..EDF won’t do cheap overnight electric…don’t know if it’s worth ringing around to see if there’s anyone out there still doing overnight rates?

I'm on 5p kWh with Octopus still :)

More than doubles in March though..

I am with EDF on their "Go Electric 35" tariff ( seven days at 5 hours per night on the cheaper rate ).
Fixed until March 24 if I remember correctly ?.
It's almost 40p / kwh on the peak rate ( about the norm these days ) but only 4.5p/ kwh on the 5 hour off peak tariff.
We have tried to slide as much of our usage into that 5 hour window, that commences at mid night through to 5.00am.
We are now trying to use our previously long redundant emersion heater, to heat our hot water via a timer switch, as it is cheaper than heating water in our hot water cylinder via our gas boiler.
I almost switched to Octopus earlier in this year, but the EDF deal was very close due to it being fixed until 2024.

We've moved our dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer into the 4 hour mark. It works surprisingly well. I've also experimented with an electric heater in my office for WFH.

Our house is pretty well insulated so I set the (oil filled heater) to come on for 4 hours at max temperature and when I wake up the room stays warm all day usually.

They would really benefit from a three stage heat setting, like on the VAG models have.
I find the seats get too hot, they should have a low and medium setting, for example ten seconds on an five seconds off repeatedly could be a medium setting. It’s could be controlled in software.
