Should a new MG4 Trophy come with the Type 2, Granny and V2L cables ?

The Type 2 cable is no longer available via the Tesla app ... at least it doesn't appear if you're not logged in with a registered Tesla account. (No idea if it'll appear after login).

I was lucky enough to get mine (£85 for a 3-phase cable) before they removed it.

Sadly this is correct (downloaded app before I read this) - will speak to my bro-in-law and see if he can order on his registered app.

That is a shame. Probably realised too many Non Tesla people (the Horror 🙀🙀🙀) were taking advantage of the price.

We only had a granny charger with ours.
We bought a V2L cable for only £75 on eBay, it’s as good as any dearer one, only difference is the name on the bag, it’s a 5m cable and it serves us well.
Which seller please? All public chargers my way don't have leads, so I need to get one. Thanks.

I think you are getting confused. ShirLow was posting about a Vehicle to Load V2L cable which lets you plug kettles etc. into the car.
If you are after one to charge your car you want a charging cable. There is a genuine MG one for sale by one of the forum members here

So why are you considering buying one if you need to say that?
Because MG is being positioned as a cheaper brand to everyone else and 30K is still a lot of money.

So I think his statement could basically mean "yeah you're right EVs are more expensive across the board but then again 30K for a Cheaper Manufacturer is expensive in a lot of peoples opinions"

I could be wrong but that's how I read it.

£34,000 may not be the most expensive EV out there but my Leaf was a lot cheaper and come with all the cables you require to charge and fitted car mats. Not impressed that your left to your own devices once your out the door especially if your not experienced with EVs

Exactly this - £33K is an enormous amount of money to fork out and not get the standard cable(s). Yes I understand MG is a 'budget' brand but the cables probably cost them £30 to buy in bulk (if that).
That said, when I got my Merc I didnt get any mats until I went in and played holy hell - and that was £20K (used with 8000 miles)
Its fine, just a little jarring. I'm over it now honest :D

The low price has to come from somewhere. Saving on a cable is better than savings in a more critical area. What's the evidence cables cost £30 in bulk?

True.
Absolutley no evidence.

Just an update on this - checked in the Tesla App yesterday and cable isn’t there even for registered owners.

Sorry my mistake, no I was posting about a charging cable not a kettle etc. One

I just typed in EV charging cable 5m (5m has proven fine for our use, although some on here do say they have the need for longer) and scrolled through until I found a good price and good seller reviews (and uk based). As I said paid £75 for ours free P&P with guarantee and a bag. I’ve used it on many public chargers and no problems.
I’ve only seen cables sized 5m and 10m not sure if other sizes available.

Hi all, new here. Just ordered a Trophy today - due to pick up 15/02 as its at the dealers already.
Reading through this forum I see several adverts for people selling Type 2 / V2L cables but I would expect these to come with the car as standard. Is this not the case ?
Is there anything else I need to know / check (aware of the bulging tray)
Thanks all
In anticipation of collecting my new MG4 in a couple of weeks' time I checked YouTube and
I came across a series of videos made by "Burl Solomon' which has provided a lot of information and first hand experience of ownership as he owns an MG4 Trophy himself.
One video in particular is titled "MG4 EV Collection/Delivery Checklist - Issues to look out for"

Do you know if your MG4 will come with a granny EVSE or type2 cable?
