Please help I’m at my wits end with this car. I can live with the bugs that make the radio erratic, the travel news twice the volume of the radio, the Apple play not work on occasion, the black screen after adjusting the temperature and trying to return to Gmaps, I concede that some of these might be a setting I have yet to find, but the car keeps not charging on random days. Down to 21% at the end of my journey yesterday, scheduled for 10pm - 6am 100% target. This morning 28%. It seems worse since V2 of the App. The charger is an Ohme with no schedule set. Finally, the rear near side window was open this morning??? Good job it wasn’t p#sing down!! Aargh!!

If it used to work fine and this has recently developed, you may have this problem: (nothing to do with Zappis)

If you think that's the case you need to:
  • Test on some other AC chargers that the same thing happens (eg a granny, supermarket)
  • Test whether DC Rapid charging still works fine (it should).
  • Take it to your dealer and report all of this.
  • Have them apply any software updates and re-test

The good news is that there is a fix, sometimes software updates work, sometimes a new CCU has to be ordered.

The bad news is it can take a while to go through all this and get the parts (if needed).

It could be that you have a different problem - hence the suggested tests.

Funny you mentioned the ns rear window. This happened to me and it did rain. I put it down to driver error, accidentally pressing the window button when exiting the car. Maybe not!

I'm convinced somthing is wrong with the new Ismart app with scheduled charging. I set the charging and save it then go back in and the settings sometimes seems to have gone. Do the same process again and it works. I'm now having to check regularly before I schedule an overnight charge. Was not a problem under the older version.

Yeah I had issues with charging which required several module updates to fix.

However, even then then app was buggy setting charges - would sometimes forget what i set, or not work at all. I found it much more reliable to set schedules directly in the car and not on the app. This worked every time for me so far. I only use the app to pre-heat nowdays.

Yes, the little niggles around the car's software can be fun... but the Traffic News volume is something that has been with us for years.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest as well. Just do it without the app and check on the car display which will confirm if it is being charged.
Thanks all, I have booked the car in with the dealer for a 'diagnostic', earliest opportunity a week's time. I will try using the car to schedule the charge tonight and ignore the app. Will let you know.

Have been successful (up to now) with just using the app including the update. So until it stops working will leave well alone.

+1 for facing similar issues here....and it certainly seems to have coincided with the app update also but perhaps also colder weather etc where we're using the app more often for preheating again.

For context we're using a wallbox pulsar charger and had no issues previously with having the schedule set on the charger and nothing set in the car.
Always just unlock charger, plug into car, lock car and it would sit there and kick in at midnight as expected.
Past few weeks have seen the car more often than not just fail to start charging following the same sequence, and instead require me to unlock/lock the car at just gone midnight for it to then start charging, or if not and it sometimes just sits on blue, do the whole unplug, lock, unlock, replug, lock for it to eventually go green and begin.

When we first had the car and we were using the supplied 3pin charger for a while with the in car scheduling the charge for midnight, back then it often seemed that the app when used for preheating etc would randomly decide to override the cars schedule when it felt like it/or had us log back in, reverting back to the 10-6 default in the app, so the app has form for causing unexpected behaviour.

Our SELR is still on r13 and hasn't had any other module updates, but will certainly be booking in to get any more recent updates installed at the dealership to see if it helps.

My SELR is on 23 version and the latest is 33 , I have not connected the phone app and have never had a problem , try disabling the app for a while and charge via the cars infotainment screen . There also may be a conflict your wallbox with each one "thinking" I,m in charge. Finally check the time in the car , that might have had a hissy fit and changed to a different time zone.

These are customer support issues; get the customer support you're entitled to!
(Oh, I see you've booked it in. Good)

For the charging schedules - I think the Ohme scheduling is better than the car's, so I'd disable scheduling on the car and manage the schedules with the Ohme app.

The first week I had my Ohme, there was a problem with the car accepting charge. I raised it with Ohme support, they looked at their logs, identified the problem, and applied a fix remotely (it was to do with timeouts), and it's been perfect ever since.

I have Intelligent Octopus, though, so letting Ohme do the scheduling is the only choice for me.

My experiences with the scheduling through the app have been a bit hit and miss, I think this is because the app and the car have issues communicating with each other.
So I had to check the app several times to make sure it the car did not reset back to the schedule used last time I charged.

Know I have changed the way I schedule charging at home, I have turned off scheduled charging in the car and use my Easee Home charger easee app to do the scheduling and it works flawlessly. Now I use the ISmart app to change to what % to charge to and preheating.

And that’s another reason
Twice I’ve gone out and my near side rear window was down a few cms
I don’t remember opening it !

Caught myself doing this yesterday, window switches are raised above the suroundings and they are so easy to briefly touch without noticing.

Before I thought I managed to open the rear windows with only pressing on the surrounding area of the switches, now I have noticed I can activate the rear window switches just by pushing them a little bit forward as they are raised (try and see yourself) and that is what I have done.
Bad design, looks good but too easy to manipulate. Especially if one is not 6' 3" and almost sitting in the back seat like I am. 😉

So easily done isn’t it. Just been out in Maggie my SE SR (until next week) and thought No, I’m being harsh coz she starts every single time and just scoots off like syrup smooth, however even with 80% charge (only 55 miles ) I hit the bypass and lo and behold (after checking nothing intelligent was switched on 🙄) power limited sign
Bye bye Maggie

Just saw this thought I’d share
