In my 2021 HS PHEV, I use the MG Apple car play integration with my iPhone, exclusively for maps/navigation and radio/Spotify, etc. (I actually use a Carlinkit 3.0 wireless module to make it wire-free - but the phenomenon described below is exactly the same when using a certified apple cable direct from my iphone to the car's Apple play input port, instead of the Carlinkit.)

At startup of the car from cold, Apple car play almost always connects with my iPhone (13mini) so I can enjoy the integrated display features on the infotainment system. However, quite often, after stopping the car for a break - say at the services, etc., the MG integration fails to reconnect with my iPhone via Apple car play.. I have proved this is not caused by the Carlinkit or the direct Apple cable, through substitution. Instead I have found a workaround: long pressing the radio short cut key (whilst driving by then) restarts the infotainment system and, usually, reconnects MGs Apply play integration. Sometimes it takes more than one long press/reset of the infotainment system to reconnect.

At the car's second service in Feb. '23 the infotainment system had an update but it didn't fix the above phenomenon at that time - and I didn't know of the workaround, since discovered. Anyone else had experience of this issue, or know of a resolution please?

There seems to be no end to the amount of trouble the infotainment system causes. It is by far the worst part of the car, I experience issues but with Android Auto. Thank you for the reboot tip I didn't know about that. I have usually had to stop the car turn it all off and back on again for when mine goes haywire or just refused to connect full stop or turns itself off the list is endless :)

My Android is very temperamental and fails to connect although I have an original Samsung cable, as for my Iphone that connects with far less issues and the cable I use is a 3rd party one.
