EV opposition in the media is ramping up

This came up on my Youtube recommended. I haven't bothered to watch it because I don't want to give them the views. The title tells me everything though.

You dodged a bullet there, ive watched it, what a load of complete and utter cr@p.

Well I was warned, but just had to watch it. And I might be being a bit fik, but, didn't understand a bl00dy word they was on about. :oops:o_O That's 10 minutes I'll never get back, and at the end they said, "until next time, believe me there won't be a next time. 🙄🙂

Let’s hope they don’t have children, the gene pool needs stopping at their level.

Looks like the FUDster's are getting desperate dishing out all that nonsense when the opposite seems to be happening sooner rather than later.

He talks a lot of sense and makes some good points about the supply ICE consumables. As Frazer says in Dad's Army, "they're doomed . . . they're doomed".

I hope that guy is right. I'm fed up with all the "EVs are not the future!" FUD and nonsense. They're going to have to accept the inevitable eventually, and it might as well be sooner rather than later.

I do hope though that this doesn't put motoring entirely out of reach of people who at the moment can only just about afford to run a cheap old ICE banger.

The thing is, as with most things in life, if you can afford the initial outlay it actually saves you money … mortgage is cheaper than rent, EV is cheaper than ICE … but if you can’t afford the deposit/outlay it’s a moot point 🤷‍♂️

Agreed, in my case for instance, my current car is costing me £200 a month in fuel, over £300 tax, £700 insurance a year.
So an X Power, particularly in fuel and tax costs is going to be way cheaper to run. But it's going to cost me about £26,000 to change, so a few have said to me, you can buy an awful lot of fuel for £26,000, and I s'pose they have a point to an extent. But I'll be changing a 12 year old car, that's starting to cost a few Bob in repairs, for a brand spanking new motor, which I'm pretty sure I will love. With a 7 year warranty. 🙂👍

That's one of the reason's I bought my MG4. My 10 year old Focus needed four new tyres, the power-shift gearbox oil needed changing (6 litres at nearly £30/litre) and coming up to a big service.

I've also just had all new windows and doors and a complete central heating system and the cost could have paid for a lot of gas and electricity. And yes it would have been cheaper to have the tyres, service and oil done on the Focus but not as much fun.

Have the EV neigh sayers not realised yet that the ICE cars they drive and promote have at least on average two major dipsticks more than the average or equivalent EV? Apologies, not the most difficult question I've posed on this forum.

An ICE car on fire on my road this morning. Tyres exploding and everything. Twas a BBW something or another. Fire service called out, connecting their hose up to a water socket thing in the pavement which I never even knew was there. It was not a permanent hydrant like they have in the USA, but something they attached themselves. It went from a bit of smoke coming out the engine to a full fire in a matter of a few minutes. No doubt it will be blamed on being an EV if the local news hears about it!

You mean something like this?

If you see a square yellow sign with a large H on it and two numbers it shows where a fire hydrant is located. The top number is the diameter of the mains pipe in mm feeding the hydrant and the bottom number is how far away in meters it is. The cast iron cover will have FH on it.
