One of the biggest problems......

I fully agree, the car's unannounced power reduction at the bottom end of the battery is disturbing. I'd been driving a Kia ev for almost 4 years and the power level doesn't perceptibly change until much lower. My wife once got it under 5%, and it did finally force eco+ mode...Granted it's 'only' 200hp/300lbsft but it's consistently the same vehicle 90+% of the time (underrated btw, it's low 6s 0-100kph with decent rubber).

When I first got the Xpower and was running it down to slow charge it to full, it wouldn't go over 70kph under 10%. It would accelerate at about 30% power until 50 and then tail off. I was on local slower roads so it didn't matter much, but I wouldn't want to be caught on a motorway with a low battery in the Xpower. I thought they already walled off a portion of the battery to protect it, and don't necessarily understand doing it so quickly to the 'usable' portion as well... feels like the BMS needs work.

As mentioned always be charging, and I am/do, but with the recommendation for nmc of daily charging to 80% and a the dropoff below 30%, it leaves us with a 400+hp car for only half the usable portion of the battery... disappointing.

Haven't got an X Power, so can't properly comment on the Power drop off. But I've had a few test drives, and one of the test drives was on 25% and it still felt Bl00dy fast! to me. So must be quite scary on optimum performance availability. :)

Oh yeah ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. Its' a supercar destroyer ....... people don't realise just how quick the Xpower is on a drag strip :-

Yes indeed it is, and that is what makes it easier to overlook these other foibles! I personally educated a local TTRS driver last weekend that not all MG4s should be tailgated while merging onto the highway ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

I think there's some driver error there in the gtr and Gallardo, but I'm not going to argue that it's not a rocketship from a standstill.

Even more impressive is the 50-75 in 2.3 seconds imho.

Not experienced the power drop off yet, but must be annoying. However its just another thing to keep in mind, add it to the list!
It's not really a problem pal.
Just something to be aware of.

When I'm low on electrons, I usually take the back road to my destination charger.
That way I can still have a spirited drive, but without the usual Dual Carriageway Twonkery.

I realise that, we just have to take into account.

It's been a been a steep learning curve for me TBH.
Always had the power right up to the last drop of fuel, and then even worked well on just the fumes!

Remember more than one occasion willing the car onto the next garage whilst seemingly running on witchcraft!

Those were the days.

Thankyou again Jon.
I couldn't have put it better myself.๐Ÿ‘

It's something I would have put up for you to view previously M8, as you know.
But I took down all my exuberant acceleration videos (on advice) due to it making my driving appear aggressive and unnecessary.
I 'had' decided not to upload anything else.......
And probably won't.๐Ÿค”
Paint your caliper covers black, might make you less of a target! ( stealth mode )

No chance.
I love the orange covers.
Matches my McLaren F1 team gear and everything ๐Ÿคฃ

Anyway, I need the Scally's to know what they're dealing with.
I'll just make sure I've got the electrons to dispatch convincingly in the future๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I ran my charge right down today to less than 5%. The biggest drop in power came at 8% with an orange warning and yellow/amber bar appearing. I Struggled to get over 40mph uphill. Currently doing a long slow charge to 100% as recommended occasionally ๐Ÿ‘
Disconcerting isn't it m8!
I don't like it when it doesn't do as it's told๐Ÿคฃ

I am sure you already know but when it gets to 100% just leave it to balance.
Mine took less than 40 minutes to balance last month.

Ok fully charged and raring to go this morning at 100% fully balanced battery !!

Here are the pics of the dash when the power was severely restricted. I drove around from 11% near home to deplete the battery below 5% and to see what happened. I knew I could get home as I kept within a few miles. It all started at 8% for me and then got worse.

At 11% I got a load of voice messages about the battery needs charging but it drove OK and no warning signs.

I have a 480 mile return journey this weekend (Leeds to Maidenbower and back) so will report back on how it goes with public charging ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

Did you reset your gom m8?

Mine showed 250 miles!

Just a tad over optimistic at this time of year.

Saying that, it's quite warm here today at 12 degrees.

Be really interested to hear how you get on.

I don't know who your planning to use for charging?
Tesla Superchargers in Luton on your way, (just off junction 10) but I imagine you are already pre planned and on it.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Very similar to what I had a few months back. Didn't expect the sudden drop in power. Previous Audi E-tron would clearly show that I had 100% power and it would slowly reduce down, but never felt like it was going to struggle up a hill at a reasonable speed. I've got a 600 mile round-trip from South-East to Liverpool and back next weekend and I'm definitely not gonna go under about 15% especially on the motorways.

Not possible I'm afraid.
I've been pre programmed to 'Attack'
I've been out of The Army 33 years but still I 'act' without question.
Then think about it later.

I'm a great deal calmer TBH, and can, and do, let a lot of things go when out and about.
But every now and then......
Repeat after me...
