My 12V battery died suddenly. MG AA assist told me that it was dead and needed replacing. Given the test apps he did I had no argument. Found that battery warranty was 12 months or 10000 miles. I am 3 weeks over 12 months and only 6,900 miles. MG wanted “ about “ £135.00 for a replacement with 12 month guarantee. AA £165.67 for a Bosch with a five year guarantee. I will not print what AA driver said about MG 12V batteries but he evidently replaces a lot of them. Most are just out of warranty. Come on MG. Use a decent battery.

I would replace with a reputable branded EV specific battery. The standard unit appears to be the same as used in the ICE vehicles. It will cost more but be more reliable and cheaper in the long run.

It’s not just MG from what I have seen on other forums. The cost of a decent Bosch battery will pay for itself in the coming years by not having to visit the dealer.
