HV battery fault

Last night I used a fast charger on the M25. Only charged for 15 minutes then got HV fault. Locked the car and returned 20 minutes later all good. I've seen some post where they say disconnect the battery.
Is it worth carrying a small jump starter?

Do you mean a rapid charger? you don't normally get that error on a fast charger.
It's common to get it if you charge past 95% on a rapid (CCS) charger and usually leaving the car off for ten minutes will clear it. Disconnecting the 12v battery can speed it up.

A jump starter is only needed when the 12V battery is too low to power on the car.
For the problem you describe an OBD dongle and app to clear the error codes might be more useful.

Yes rapid charger charged from 17% to 46%

After the charge HV battery showed 11%

Let me get that straight, it charged from 17 to 46%, then stopped with a fault and 20min later all was good but the SOC was then a merely 11%?
What car are you driving?

No I unplugged the car pressed start and then came up HV fault

That sounds like a faulty charger. Have you tried anywhere since?

OBD readers

Has anybody found an OBD reader and an accompanying app suitable for MG5s? As well as reading general faults, I'd be interested in interrogating the battery state, in a similar way to Leaf-Spy. The ones I've investigated don't inspire confidence.
