Newbie here,
Not sure if I should post this as a new thread or not, did search and only found charing issues on the MG4 like this....
I got my MG ZS in Oct last year and it's my 3rd EV so thought nothing of taking away on holiday last week. Went to try to charge it on Sunday and tried 2 CCS chargers (Gridserve and Shell) and both failed to initialise and failed to charge. This was the 1st time using a DC charge on the new car as I've only charged the MG at home on the Type2 and having had 2 pervious EVs and the only charging problems I ever had unto now was broken chargers which when I 1st was an EV driver 8 years ago was a very common problem, so didn't even think twice about needing to test it before going away. The local MG dealership to where we were staying were very helpful and squeezed us in on Tuesday morning and said a quick software update should fix it so we could charge and get home no problems
Shall we say we got there at 8:30am and by 11am the software update has not completed successfully. Turns out after more integration of the dealer the software update failed and the car thought it was permentally on charge even when it was not so it was totally unusable! Apparently they never had a software update that failed like this they did manage to find us a loan car to use very quickly and by the time we were ready to leave on Wednesday they still had not fixed and have let us come home in the loan car so great customer service from MG dealership in Wolverhampton on the customer service front, however I'd rather have come home in our own car. Now they've had it 4 days and its still not fixed and the last update was MG said to swap some parts over and that didn't fix it either and at the moment no idea how long its going to take to fix it.
The loan MG ZS charged perfectly on the way home so we didn't come home on the back of the AA truck!
