Since I received my car on Monday I've not been able to get the iSmart app to work. The dealer is saying there is a nationwide issue where it isn't working for Android users and might not be fixed for a couple of weeks.

Can I just confirm that other Android users are having issues?

To clarify, the app works but won't show any car details once bound to the car.

Your dealer is talking out of "their other mouth".

It is fine.

Have you tried reinstalling and re-registering?

Try clearing the app cache for the iSmart app, you'll probably have to bind it again to the car after that. See if that makes a difference. To do that, click and hold on the iSmart app, then select App info when the menu appears. One of the options at the bottom of the screen should be clear data. Select that, then clear cache. Then try it again.

The app currently works fine on Android. However I couldn't bind it to Android when I got the car in Sept 2022 (it wouldn't read the QR]. The wife did it on her iPhone and then I simply logged on my android (Samsung Note 10) with the phone number
and password set up on that.

My ismart app stopped working with the message 'token expired ', I now think this happened after I got a SIM only deal for my mobile although I kept the same number.
I reinstalled the app but was unable to bind with the car as the car said it was already bound.
I eventually got mg to unbind the car which allowed me to start the binding process but it now won't accept my 4 digit security code.
Any idea how to get past this point?

Unfortunately you've made life difficult for yourself. It is your account which is bound to the car, not the phone. You can have multiple phones log into the account (one at a time). I had the token expired message yesterday and I just re-entered my password and up it came.

I've also had token expired message and the app won't let me log in. I've tried to change the password but won't let me do that either.

It does that, came up for me yesterday. Make sure you've ticked the terms and conditions box at the bottom of the login screen, otherwise the login button is greyed out.

Yes I did that, still nothing happens, thanks anyway.
Have you tried fully closing the app/force stop the app?
Clearing the cache on the app, or uninstall/reinstall?
Have you checked you have the latest version of the app?
One thing I noticed following an app update was that the car needed to be powered on the first time logging in after an app update.

Have you checked that you have also agreed to the terms and conditions on the car's infotainment screen? Swipe the Home screen left, choose Settings then Privacy notice. Scroll right to to the bottom and set the switches to On.

My ismart worked for 2 months but since early November nothing no matter how many times I try. Just given up

My app stopped working last September, replaced the Telematics unit, tried 5 different phones, uninstalled and reinstalled the App and still not working. Very poor customer service from MG. The local MG dealer where the vehicle was purchased appears to know nothing, all they can say is, we have asked MG technical and are waiting for a reply.

I am experiencing same today. Token expired, so log in again. Every time after I types password and press login it tells me to ener 8 to 16 digit password, as if it does not see the password I entered. I switches off phone and on again. Did not help. I remove app and installen again, it did not help. Anybody knows what is problem/solution?

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I rang my mg dealer and they advised me to ring MG head office in UK. They were very quick in responding and suggested that they needed to reset the app from their end. In the mean time I cleared all cache in the app as suggested by someone on here and also clicked 'forgot password ' and changed it to something completely different and longer. It worked and also the front windscreen defrosting now works with heat rather than cold air. MG telephone number 0121 756 4864

Well.....it worked for me for 24 hours. Then I had an email from MG to say they had closed my account and opened another so all should be good to sign in. Except it isn't, now the app is asking me to activate the digital key but it won't accept my security code. 'The remote control failed try again later'. Back to square one.
