Funny, only recently I read something similar on a Facebook group where the owner mentioned his VW ID3 was showing minus kWh. I don’t know if this has any reference to what you are seeing but here is one reply to his post ……

……. “think mi/kWh is intuitive, it's how many miles you can drive on 1kWh. A negative mi/kWh sounds nonsense at first. It sounds like you're driving negative miles for each kWh.

But it actually makes sense. As the car gains energy through regenerative breaking, you'll see a negative number because the flow of energy is reversed, pulling kinetic energy back in to the battery.

So, it's not the milage part of the fraction that's negative, it's the kWhs. It's now displaying how many miles you'll drive for each kWh that's being brought back in to the battery.” ……….

Much more intuitive is to show people miles/percentage charge. Why should they need to convert from kWh in their heads?

I'd like a linear scale where I know how many miles I will get for each remaining percentage of charge.

(And before someone says miles/percentage isn't comparable between makes/models, the primary use is to track efficiency with the car you own, comparing to other vehicles is secondary and should not be the main display. Let the manufacturer publish those figures to compare when buying).

i think its because.
we pay $ for kwh.
we want to see how much is our dollar worth after paying.

my car only needs 10cents USD to run 8km..

previously..
my car needs 1 dollar usd o run 8km..

this always gets people start thinking to shift into evs...

Is the reading maxed out @ 29.8kWh/100km in Trophy too? Why couldn't they just put something like 30+kWh/100km instead. Gives a very amateurish feel of the software. Considering 87°C is not an uncommon internal temperature reading in iSmart, MG truly loves magic numbers...

My car needs a sticker over the camera to run. So far done hundreds of miles for £3.50.
