My MG4 was one of the first which I purchased as a demo from Howards Taunton, an excellent dealer. The first service was with Hendy’s Exeter as Taunton is a 90min+ trek. I enjoyed the vehicle but constant software problems, not resolved by Hendy, led to my selling it and taking the massive £10k hit for my own sanity! Entirely my accountability. Should have researched more thoroughly.

What were the software faults? Not doubting what you’re saying but I’m curious.

Compared to the Cupra I sold, my MG4 seems much less buggy. The weird thing with the Cupra was some cars with the same software versions had problems others didn’t. Wondering if the MG4 has similar issues.

I don’t wish to jinx it but I have one of the 1st batch of SEs (black glass) and software has been pretty faultless. Basically Apple car play is used for everything it doesn’t always connect 1st go via cable that’s about it. The app is a tad temperamental as to if it will connect all of the time but there we go.

Now the boot leak is a different matter but does make me wonder what was the issue?

Only thing I note is despite being in for 1st service where they updated loads of modules and again when it was in for the ruddy boot leak they have left my infotainment without the temp display.

They must have given you R16 or R21 then. The latest version is R33 and it restores the temperature display. It also has a number of other features you definitely want.

If I were you I'd go and complain about the missing temperature display and make them give you R33.
