Well this sucks (XPower crash tested) 🙄

Just updating but nothing has actually happened as yet, assessment has been sent to insurers and its tumbleweeds aplenty unfortunately. Had to drive down to London and back (in a day!) at the weekend. That would’ve been much nicer without the petrol consumption and the manual gearbox (and WITH auto cruise control!) but hey ho, at least I can get around.
Wishing I’d taken more stuff out of the car now as the dog hammock was in there and his nicer walking harness

Pardon the interruption, just quietly venting. Been 4 weeks since assessment submitted and still no word so I’ve finally had time to chase them. Let’s see what happens. I’m not going to tempt fate with “knowing my luck…”

We’ve not even got into their pre prepared excuse plastered all over their website about parts delays and supply chain issues so who knows how long that may be

True enough, getting real bored of this “gearbox” thing and static cruise control and don’t even get me started on the clutch
To be clear, nothing WRONG with them, just I’d prefer not to have them.
And the fact my electric bill is UP! Whilst having to put dino juice in this thing. Insult to injury heh.

IMO, Car repairs are like estate agents.

You have to ring them. Every day. Or your repair or house purchase gets put on the back burner.

It's who shouts loudest.

I had a car repair done years ago. Told it would be a week. Five weeks later, it was ready. The paintwork was awful, so I complained. "Well," said the body shop manager, "you have been hurrying us....."

Yeah, I was tempted to but my life (not gonna bore anyone with details) is hectic and dramatic enough to not want to jinx my luck by chasing.
BUT, on a lighter note I did get a response today to my polite email asking where the heck were up to as the communication had been pretty good but as far as I was informed they’d submitted the costs and…. Nothing for 4 weeks.
Apparently it’s been approved and parts were ordered and with the delays they should be arriving late this week/early next.

Keeping my sensible estimate to not get my hopes up I reckon safe to hope I might be back in it by the end of next month. They MIGHT over achieve but I’m trying to temper my expectations. Plus as mentioned above there might be follow up/quality issues. But there looks to be light at the end of the tunnel (I’ve never SEEN so many MG4s on the road as I have whist sat quietly seething in this Kia!)

Still waiting, annoyingly my insurance is also up for renewal.
Likely gonna renew with the same bunch because of the in progress thing.
I think the premium damage wasn’t as bad as I feared in the end though. Still £650 isn’t where I’d like it to be

Not good, have you spoken to anyone at your insurers, to see if they can get involved? I realise there are all sorts of issues that could be delaying repairs.
