Have a MG ZS Trophy long range, three months old less than 500 miles, car will not engage forward or reverse drive. Alarm warning high voltage battery fault, car is charged to 78% RAC unable to resolve due to numerous faults on his plug in computer, the car has to be picked up on a flatbed recovery vehicle. I have spoken the Dealership who have accepted the car but unable to look at it until middle of April, has anyone suffered the same breakdown??

I've had a similar issue with my 5 but the trusty 10mm spanner cleared the faults . I assume the breakdown guy would have tried that ?

I had something similar on my ZS a year or so ago - I just disconnected the battery, clicked my heels, turned around, whistled, reconnected the battery and it was fine......

RAC arrived with flatbed lorry to recover my EV Trophy, RAC guy tried to release the auto hand-break with no joy and then the car burst into life and was able to drive the car onto the lorry, not sure what’s going on and hopefully the dealership will sort it out, problem being they are unable to look at it until the 9th of April. I was really pleased with the EV now totally lost all confidence in it due to the time to fix!!!

Sounds to me that the 12 volt battery disconnect would have done the trick . Chances are, hopefully ,that the car would start by the time the dealer looked at it and they'd declare it OK .
So maybe pointless waiting a month for that ?

Just a thought. Could this perhaps an opportunity to make them do all updates available to 'fix' the car?
That way it won't be a total waste of energy and time.

I had the same fault 5 months ago
Disconnecting the 12 v battery did not work

First problem was getting a garage to take it in for repair

5 weeks later I got it back
It had to go to Birmingham to take the battery out as dealer did not have the jack for a long range battery

Turned out there is a board on the batter which went pop

Love the car but mg after service is chronic

Looking at the miles divided by time your only doing 41 miles a week so how many days does the car stand around for. This sound like the 12v battery gets discharged to a low point were there is not enough capacity to work the relays to start the car, interesting the car jump in to life on the day it was taken away, had the day warmed up? The HV battery should top up the 12v battery if it gets too low when sit, it recommends the car is put in to ready mode to to charge the 12v battery for 30 minutes each week to top up the battery in not used a lot.
I would take for a drive to Herne Bay Whitstable Margate, then Broadstairs, then back to Canterbury have a coffee on the way, and this way you might keep your battery in good condition.
I would consider asking the garage to pop the 12 V battery on a charge direct and get the car back and do this run you may not have a problem anymore.
