MG4 Trophy LR
Was driving from Melbourne to Canberra and decided to turn left off the highway to pull into a recharge station, as I was pulling in the alerts started sounding one after the other. Lane keep assist system unavailable, Forward collision system unavailable, same for Auto emergency braking system, rear drive assist, stability control fault, traction control fault, auto hold fault, brake system fault, hill hold unavailable. Basically everything. I can’t turn on any assists, one pedal driving, cruise control or anything at all. Brakes are hydraulic only and very poor. Turned the car off for a while but the problems persist. Roadside assistance was no help as their scanner didn’t have the MG4 in it anyway. The car will charge and drive but every assist is not functioning. Anyone seen anything like this. I’m hours from anywhere.

Do you want this added to hints and tips?

After the car powers up, you'll likely need to reset the steering wheel (1) and reset all the windows (2).

(1) turn the wheel fully to the left, then fully to the right, then return to the centre
(2) fully lower the driver's window, fully raise the driver's window (may need to be done in increments). Repeat for the other 3 windows.

You may also need to reset any preferences you'd made (e.g. for the CUSTOM drive mode, HVAC settings, etc.)

I disconnected the 12V battery , waited 10 minutes and reconnected it. I went through the steering and windows calibration, but unfortunately all of the alerts are still there and all assists have failed. I’ll be taking the car to the dealer on Monday.

Have you driven it?
You need to drive it to clear those errors.

Hi,

This sounds similar to a previous post I made.

Is this similar to what you have?

Had the same faults, would clear after the car was turned off for a period of time but eventually reappear. Turned out to be a faulty ABS sensor. The cause was a faulty wire connection that had taken in water. MG replaced both parts under warranty, but it took 4 weeks to get replacement parts here in Denmark.
