    Charging Speeds (Pre Facelift)

I'll be honest, I've had the car for 15 months now, driven some 20,000 miles and only in recent times am I often seeing it get past the 50 mark. Even when I had a year of using the Ionity network due to the hilarious 35p/kWh pricing. I've been misremembering the specs all this time! Happiest...

    Charging Speeds (Pre Facelift)

Chargers were 175kW peak 20% started charge, sat at 63kW average until it got to 40% and dropped to 58kW, then at 48% back up to 60 kW until we got till 66% and not dropped to 50kW where it stayed till I stopped charge @72% to trundle home. While I'm not going to complain at a 20% boost in peak...

    Charging Speeds (Pre Facelift)

Anyone else seem to have been getting faster than the advertised 50kW peak from the new Tritium chargers? I'm currently at South Mimms and charging at a steady 63kW!

    OVMS (Again)

Hey Dragon, did you get any more on this? I bought myself a bluetooth OBD2 module a while back, Im curious about OVMS however. Interesting is my current plug, if left in, will trigger the vehicle alarm if I attempt to query it while the car is locked. How do OVMS get around this do you know?

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Just over 600 miles in and averaging 3.1 BUT no faults so I can live with that. Maybe get back to gentle estate driving, rather than Boy Racer style after having the MG4 on loan :P But done a couple of rapid charges and a few long trickles at home. So all good. Only issue was the lack of...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Just collected mine from the dealership yesterday. Done 40 odd miles so far uneventfully. They've put a fair few miles of road testing on it (at my request) but nothing compared to the several thousand I put on their courtesy car ;). But nice to have my own car back finally after a month!

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Might be time for me to ring my dealership and find out! Thanks for the updates dragon2611. My heart did sink at that first sentence. Well Played

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Interesting news! How did you get this info from head MG? Any time I've tried to speak with them, they brush me off saying I can only get info through my dealership.

    MG5 Mystery Faults

I've had some joy of getting out, locking BUT making sure I turned off my phone's Bluetooth, otherwise it stayed connected, seemingly keeping some part of the 12v system active

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Thanks for sharing Rich and sorry to hear you going through this. However thank you for sharing as it makes it a lot easier for all of us when it comes to conversations with MG, knowing that others are going through this, especially when MG dealerships all seem to go "huh, not seen this...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Just spoken to my dealership. So I've got the courtesy car till the new year! MG have requested the technician reinstate my OLD BMS module as with the new one fitted they can't communicate with the rest of the system due to software mismatch! Once that's back in the car is sitting waiting in the...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Mine is also a 72 plate "old" style LR. Delivered September. My dealer says they suspect MG are going to ask them to open up the battery pack..... So judging from the different responses it seems MG still haven't found a overall solution! My money is on this last production run was using...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Greetings from near Chablis in the MG5 courtesy car, which I'm happy (and a tiny bit bitter) has performed admirably on a drive to Lyon and again now on the return journey. The last thing my garage said was most likely to be a VCU swap. But haven't heard from them for over a week so shall see...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Oh I also made a complaint to MG Customer Services saying this was a safety issue as the car can go into limp mode with no warning (including when I was on the motorway) and got brushed off in the first instance, made the same complaint again after getting the car back the most recent time and...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Sorry to hear that TBalls. Interesting to hear that this is more common than we first thought. I've also heard via the garage I bought the car from (NOT an MG dealership) that they've heard through their network of a couple of instances of this happening also. I have asked the MG dealership my...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Hey Barry22 sorry to hear that! (But a small part of me is glad I'm not alone in this) So turns out they didn't swap the battery, they swapped the BMS which it turns out involves removing the whole battery tray. What a lush piece of design eh! Either way, they also found a bent pin on the VMU...

    MG5 Mystery Faults

Hi Everyone that might want an update. And even for those that don't! Did not reject the car as MG started sorting themselves out. 2 weeks ago MG Gloucester took the car in and gave me an MG4 courtesy car (happy to talk about that elsewhere after a good long road test of that) Phone call...

    Gridserve Rapid Charging Issue

Gavin yes! I had this EXACT same issue this weekend and reported it to Gridserve who said "oh that's new" If you haven't please report this to them. I suspect it's to do with how the CCS standard is implemented as it's always a Comms issue it seems.
