    Lane assist help

I agree that if the system worked as it should it would be a great feature that certainly could prevent an accident especially involving a driver that might fall asleep momentarily. The problem is that the LKA 'feature' on the MG4 like many others I have read about such as BYD and Tesla is far...

    Lane assist help

Yep, that graph you posted points to a steady decline in road deaths over the last 20 years but that can be hardly attributed to LKA assist features etc. as they haven't been around that long and in some cases are more likely to cause an accident rather than prevent it based on some comments...

    Dashcam install

Yeah, I bought a cheap Alfawise dashcam around 5 years ago and it's just plugged into the 12V port and I unplug it when parked as the port is always 'live' and it would eventually drain the 12V car battery if left plugged in whilst parked or garaged. The dashcam has it's own battery for parking...

    Lane assist help

The MG4 is a great EV but this is probably the main reason putting people off buying it and others with a similar 'issue'. Ridiculous having to go through all this bulldust every time you wish to start a trip. I know it doesn't only apply to the MG4. I remember a time many years ago when you...

    Sudden automatic braking issue

Yep...I was really keen on these but that is one of the reasons I am going to pass on a purchase. My wife and I just want a car that you can just get in and drive without worrying about turning dodgy 'features' off. That and the fact that they are awkward for me to access and exit due to my...

MG4 - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and MG Pilot

Yep...apparently that is what has been happening with updates for the earlier model MG4's. The problem is that I believe it comes on by default upon restart in the later models and the dealer may say that it is a mandatory update for your model for safety reasons. Obviously it is a pain in the...

MG4 - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and MG Pilot

It's just a bit of grammar correction Les and probably not really necessary. 'You are quite right there Ian' would be the correct way to make the comment instead of 'your quite right' but no one really cares as it is no big deal as we know what you meant. ;)

MG4 - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and MG Pilot

    That is what I feared...thanks.

MG4 - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and MG Pilot

But by turning off MG Pilot does the LKA still come on by default at each restart?

    MG4 in Australia

Thanks for advice but I do this anyway even for my SUV when not parked too close to other vehicles as you need the door well open. In those tighter cases I just slide across as my seat is hip height. This is difficult for me with the MG4 or any small hatch in that situation as I have back...

My wife is also approaching her 70th birthday in December. Wish I was 70 again...

    MG4 in Australia

Oh yes...I agree and that is why I bought an SUV a few years ago mainly to make access much easier in my err....maturing years. I probably would have these issues with many small or medium cars these days. I was just keen on an EV and was leaning towards a hatch rather than an SUV EV for...

    MG4 in Australia

I have been following this forum with interest since the MG4 arrived in the UK and have gained a lot of info re the positives and negatives of the vehicle and got the chance to see one in the flesh at my local dealership a few weeks ago. I was really keen on the Excite 51 due to the pricing...

Or made it worse according to some reports here from owners who initially had no real issue with it. :(

    Lane assist help

I understand that but it is still ridiculous that it cannot be permanently disabled if it puts lives at risk. My 2017 model ICE SUV has LKA which works fine and is certainly not dangerous but it can be permanently disabled along with other 'features' so it is a step backwards in my view with...

    Lane assist help

Perhaps, but why should you have to do that to eliminate a possible dangerous feature. Any other car I have owned over the last 60 years or so of driving only requires you to start the engine and drive off. Also you have to rememember to tell your wife, kids or anyone else who may drive the MG4...

My MG4 is finally here 😊

Agree...anyway this 'issue' is not a deal breaker for me. The MG4 is expected in Oz in around September/October so I may preorder the base model as I am sure they will be in high demand here so if it doesn't suit me/us they will have no problem onselling it. The main thing I was concerned...

My MG4 is finally here 😊

Yep...thanks, I was aware of them. Maybe I can attach a chamois to it somehow after washing to dry the top off. Others must have come across this issue especially with SUV's. I know you can stand on the door sils with doors open but that is not ideal.

My MG4 is finally here 😊

Wouldn't work I am afraid...I already have something similar to that but I have a balance issue and need to be on terra firma. :) I was just trying to find out if it is possible to reach across the top from both sides when washing the car but if not I will just have to use my car wash guy once...

My MG4 is finally here 😊

Just a question on washing the MG4. I understand that they are 1504mm (59") high but I am only around 5' 8" tall and I was wondering whether I would be able to reach the roof to wash it or would I need to stand on a stool or whatever? I ask this because I am now elderly and have a minor...
