Anyone tried the V4 Superchargers in Tottenham?

We're just doing a long drive from Scotland to London and we're wondering the same thing. I will try the chargers along the M6

    Octopus Intelligent

Ah sorry, im not sure about Octopus Go. But when I switched from Octopus standard tariff -> Intelligent Octopus, it took a couple of hours, after I met the criteria for smets 2 & compatible charger.

    Octopus Intelligent

Hey, Once I had my ohme installed, around 11am that day. I was on intelligent within 2 hours. Presuming you already have a smart meter (smets 2), compatible charger (eg. Ohme), it takes about an hour or so.

    Emergency charge port release

Hey thanks for this. I've checked to make sure it works. I think, I may have accidentally done something similar. It's been a few days now and no further problems with the car battery. fingers crossed!

    MG's routine charging advice

I think the most optimal method of maintaining the battery condition is to charge the car to 80% and never let it go below 50%. Which means you drive no more than ~60 miles between charges. /s

    Emergency charge port release

Right okay, that makes sense. So updates, in case anyone's interested in my battle with the charging flap. I've managed to jump start the car again and leave it running for about 5 mins. Turned the car off, checked the battery voltage using a multi meter (it showed 12.05V). Then I was able to...

    Emergency charge port release

Yeah I tried pushing on the flap. No luck. Also tried pushing it and holding it in. Then locking and unlocking the car. No luck. Ah my bad. I thought that was the 12v battery voltage. Using the multimeter I've measured the voltage of the battery when the car is on (after jump starting it the...

    Emergency charge port release

Right okay. So are the updates. Tried tickle charging overnight. Didn't help the battery. But managed to jump start using a donor vehicle. The car sprung to life. Lots of errors on the dash (lane keep, ACC, etc). But the 12v battery showed 14.5v so that's good. Tried opening the charging...

    Emergency charge port release

Ah okay. I'll check with my neighbours when they're home and see if I can jump start. As to why the 12V battery got depleted overnight remains a mystery to me.

    Emergency charge port release

Yeah I think the HV will charge the 12v. I'm not sure on the jump starting though. I've read sometimes it can blow out the fuses (it was on the kia forums, so may not apply to the MGs).

    Emergency charge port release

Ah damn. it'll be a long day for me then. I've got a 1.5a charger connected to the battery at the moment. Need to get hold of a multi meter to check the voltage though.

Does this look okay to you? @5teep

    Emergency charge port release

I've hooked it up a 12V charger now. Hopefully it'll work. But it's such a faff. I tried pulling at different angles, no luck. It's got to a stage where I think the release string might break if I pull harder.

    Emergency charge port release

How hard does one need to pull on the emergency release cable to unlock the charge port? I just cant seem to be able to release it? The car is dead, I suspect a 12V battery drain.

    OVMS (Again)

Ah no, I think I was on an earlier build. I've got the version from slack on 13th May now. I'll test it and share my results. Apologies I wasn't signed in to slack, so missed the conversations there!

    OVMS (Again)

Ah, I would recommend watching this video: It helped me a lot, getting started with OVMS. I think you're not far off from a working system. Let me know if you still have issues after watching the video. Use a password manager to store the passwords, there are 3 of them (annoyingly). Don't...

    OVMS (Again)

Do you have the app? Download it on your phone and log in to it. Set up the car. If you have a data SIM card or hologram setup. Then just use the phone app to access ovms. If not, then you can use the laptop. Make sure the car is turned on, and then connect to the ovms WiFi on your laptop. And...

    OVMS (Again)

Do you have a new build I can try? The current version, when it's just started charging and locked. I try polling and it triggers an alarm. Also, when it's charging and locked. It randomly triggers an alarm after x period of time. (around 30 mins or so).

    Confused about home charger

6 hours, 7kw per hour. You'll add 42kwh. Capacity of the car (mine is LR) is 57. So around 73%. Assuming 3 miles per kWh. You should get around 126 miles of range. If you know your efficiency, just multiply it by 42 and you'll know how many miles an overnight charge will add to the car...
