Instavolt doesn't like our 5,we have had to phone the hotline twice. They are very quick and efficient. They re-booted the sytem and they worked! Apparently they work better from the app. On a 7kw plug in unlocked and then lock asap, this normally works for us. Good luck
When the AA guy jumped our 5 it threw up lots of error messages which soon cleared when we turned it off and on again.
Thanks, I am not so concerned about going direct to the battery now.
We have a chargemap rfid which we use in France, it works on almost all chargers and has a great app. We have found ionity chargers to be reliable - never failed for us. You need to order a card from chargemap before you go.
I have just bought a noco gb50 for the same reason. Did you connect the +ve & - ve direct to the 12v battery terminals? Is so, did you have any error messages come up?
I know the noco is overkill for the 5 but we also have a 2L Peugeot Boxer
One of the problems is that the noco jump starter comes with really quite short leads and i can see it would be difficult to find a piece of suitable body to fix to.
The other day our 5 would not start. Pressed the start button and various lights flashed on the dash. On the second attempt, literally nothing happened!
We called MG assist and an AA guy arrived very quickly and diagnosed a flat 12v battery, there wad plenty of charge in the traction battery...
