I removed the tape on the fangs themselves and put additional tape on the part that sticks to the black moulding. I was concerned that the tape on the fangs would damage the underlying paintwork if I ever had to remove them. The moulding is black plastic so less sensitive to surface damage.

I must have been lucky. I downloaded it 2 days ago and successfully updated yesterday.

Wing mirrors? I reckon it's air vortexes caused by bad aerodynamic design. The same reason that most Airbuses have small winglets on the end of each wing to prevent vibration of the wingtips.

There seem to have been intermittent issues with the MG servers recently. My app hasn't been able to reach the car all week, despite using it every day. This afternoon it suddenly started working again.

Android Auto is installed on the phone, not the car, so updates on the phone as required (usually automatically). The car simply provides an extended display.

This is interesting and available here too it seems. How easy is it to apply? Is a 20ml package enough for one windscreen? Is Gyeon Quickview better/different? (It seems easier to apply)

Did you remove the original logo to paint/spray it, or do it in situ? Will it come off, should it need to?

I added the logo and vanes to my green XPower. Cleaning the surfaces thoroughly before application is critical, as is making sure that the ambient and surface temperatures are optimal. Otherwise it was easy.

Does anyone else have problems with the XPower windscreen wipers lifting and becoming useless as far as clearing rain is concerned over around 130kph/80mph? I may need to look for better blades with spoilers or add-on spoilers to get better pressure onto the screen as they become positively...

How long has your car been left locked? I find I always lose connectivity after about 48 hours, and presumed it was going into a deeper sleep to preserve 12V battery.

Mine's a Xiaomi 12 using a no-name AA dongle from Amazon using either Sygic or Google Maps plus BBC Sounds or Google Podcasts. On a 25 mile ride it goes from 95% to 93% (without the charger it's from about 95% to 90%). It's certainly charging all the time as I have the icon on screen.

I find it reliable but weak. When using Android Auto the power consumption exceeds the charging capability, so the phone still loses charge.

Maybe you have a Chinese cloned vehicle? :)
