    Issue after auto emergency braking.

So the other day while filtering in the left lane on green lights and a lorry on the right lane held on red lights an eScooter appears from in front of the lorry, fairly quickly - completely disregarding any traffic around him and any road and crossing laws. I was on the brake quickly but...

Cheap boot liner but BE QUICK

I purchased the ones that Halfords sell, a kind of foam tray. It doesn’t go over the bumper but fits perfectly - I had the plastic bumper guard fitted by MG when I purchased the car. That part was expensive but has saved the rear bumper from being scratched by our dog.

    It's a LONG way to.................?

Yes you can just tap the contactless but if you use the app it reports back the progress of the charge which is handy. InstaVolt then chargers you at Mid Night. Which for me for some reason that tiggers my bank to block my card as they think it’s fraud - and have to answer a few text messages...

What do you think of BP Pulse Subscription?

Recently subscribed for the 3 month trial. Mainly because I was using a charger at a hotel that only worked with a card. It did take 7 weeks for the card to come through however, apparently they didn’t have my address and every time I called they didn’t know what was going on until one day a...

Poll: Is it ok to unplug another car that has finished charging so that you can charge yourself?

Fast chargers (7kw) or even 3kw chargers should be installed at places like train stations. That way someone car stay on charge all day. However, most people who park and travel by train live fairly locally, so a charge on a rapid charger to get home won’t take too long. Before the pandemic...

    iSmart update?

I don’t think so. MG5 has no connectivity hardware as far as I know. Not even the Sat Nav has live traffic data. Shame as it would be nice to know the charge status of the vehicle when leaving it on charge.

What's your miles per kw? (Poll)

MG ZS EV Owner shame on you

Not sure what the problem is here. I rely on rapid chargers. I’ve never sat in my vehicle waiting for it to charge. I use a GeniePoint at a Morrisons right next door to me regularly. I often pop my vehicle on charge, do bit of shopping, walk home. Put shopping away. Pop dog on lead, take him...

Poll: Is it ok to unplug another car that has finished charging so that you can charge yourself?

Should also add that the MG5 charging on a type 2 does stay locked once it reaches 100%.

Poll: Is it ok to unplug another car that has finished charging so that you can charge yourself?

CCS do get unlocked. Type 2 stays locked after reaching 100%.

Poll: Is it ok to unplug another car that has finished charging so that you can charge yourself?

Yes and no. I returned to my car and someone had unplugged the CCS connector. On challenging the person he said the charger had finished. Checking my vehicle it reported 95% which is as much as it can do on a rapid charger. It seems that once the vehicle is charged it unlocks the CCS...

First 50kW charge - finished at 95% this normal?

I’ve got my MG 5 to 95% twice in rapid chargers with no issues. Had the car plugged up to a 7kw BP pulse charging post at a hotel last night. (Issues with the app and releasing my cable however). Left it over night as there was plenty of chargers around where I’m staying. Car now 100% and 250...

    Issues with Gridserve chargers.

Paid a visit to Toddington Services (North) last night. GridServe unit. Worked first time. Pleased with that. I’ll keep a note on the Grid Serve ones that play up with my MG5. I have emailed them all the units that I’ve had trouble with. We’ll see what comes of that. Going to start a new...

    Issues with Gridserve chargers.

Yeah, sounds like compatibility issues. Emailed Grid Serve last night asking if they knew of issues with MG5. Got a reply this morning saying they do not know of any issues with MG5’s but want to know the units that I’ve had problems with. I’ll reply later. Trouble is I’m kind of reliant on...

    Issues with Gridserve chargers.

GeniePoint works first time every time. and Osprey worked on the one occasion I used that. BP works once I spoken to their help line and they reset and start a charge with my email address and account details. Some GridServe do work. Pod point on Type 2 in my local town works fine first time...

Thanks. It’s always been the new Grid Serve ones. Found one Ecotricity one but that was switched off. I’ll take a closer look at the CCS connector next time.

    Issues with Gridserve chargers.

Hi Folks. has anyone had issues with charging at Grid Serve sites? I have MG5 LG and find that I often get ‘Car Not Connected’ or ‘Connect Car’ messages on the charger. It will the keep the CCS connected locked in my car until in open doors, windows and play with the keys for about 2 minutes...

    Conditional speed limit detected

Hi folks. I’ve had my MG5 EV LR for three weeks and I’m rather pleased with it. But I often get a warning on the dash which says ‘conditional speed limit detected’ followed by a yellow warning triangle. It seems to come on randomly. I’ve been through the menus and turned off Speed limit...
