Last year my policy went from £180 to £370...and comparison sites were suggesting about £500. I did a check the other day and it looks like about £600 this year...no claims in 10 years...so yeah, it's just a rip off now.
Oh I understand relay car theft...but that requires the car key's signal to be strong enough to pick up (otherwise sticking them in a Faraday pouch wouldn't work either). I guess if the relay uses a signal booster or something then it might do it...but I just wondered if the key only emits a...
Am I wrong in thinking that our keys have a much lower range? I need to be basically right beside the car for it to see the key so if the key is at the back of the house, how likely is it the signal could be piggy backed?
Yeah I didn't like the autohold...I don't like that it leaves the brake lights on so you blind the people beind you at night so I switched it off. Was using the main parking brake button for ages, but discovered accidentally that if you use the parking brake switch instead, you can just drive...
So I've just returned from my first long range trip from just outside Edinburgh to near Barry in South Wales (and back with some smaller drivers round the area).
Here's a few thoughts etc.
I used ABRP for planning the trip. All in all, it does the job if via the most clunky design possible...
I just had to do it for the first time...managed to get to the loop by just lifting the corner of the cover.
Do I need to do anything before I charge again? Or does putting the charger in reset the cable?
Am I the only one who thinks OP is trolling us? His posts barely make sense (even accounting for any language differences).
Assuming you're not a troll...
As others have said (and you've conveniently ignored), if you're really only getting a tiny range, that sounds like there's an issue with...
I'd say that the dealer is low balling your dad. Here's a similarly specced MG5 from Arnold Clark for almost £22k. But mind, a dealer trade in is always going to be under the value by at least a few thousand as they've got to make a profit (that's what they tell us at least 😜).
The biggest tell...
I just checked mine on auto trader and am being told it's worth over 19k still. We buy any car, who I find always under value a car as they're more akin to those companies who offer to buy your house quick for cash, are also offering just over 15k for it. Mine is a 71 plate with just under 10k...
And yet my brother had a crash a few years back where the other driver claimed he was part over the centre line. The dash cam proved she was the one at fault after drifting over at the last second and saved him being on the hook.
Just because you've never needed it doesn't mean you won't one...
You do you - but it's not really for dobbing people in (though I absolutely would if they were doing something dangerous like running red lights or road rage and ESPECIALLY drunk drivers).
It's an independent witness if you get into an accident and stops it being their word against yours.
When my wife did that, the boot wouldn't stay shut. It seemed to know the key was there and wouldn't let the boot actually close at all. It kept bouncing back open
