Reduced range after full charge on MG5 LR

Hello, I've also noticed for the last couple of charges at home on 7Kw charger that 100% only equates to 100 miles or so. My driving style and distances hasn't altered at all since collected in March of this year. I'll try resetting the trip mileage and see what happens.

    What Colour

I took delivery of my MG5 LR on the 22nd March - through Motability. Having already had red, grey, black and white cars I opted for a "blue" without actually seeing one at all!! It turned out to be a "sparkly" lightish blue which everyone comments on and I really enjoy going out to my car...

    Charging MG5

On previous occasions I have tried cancelling all scheduled times and actually setting some specific times for charging - nothing seems to resolve the issue - it worked perfectly last Sunday to 100% and yet failed last night and this morning - I did exactly the same thing!

    Charging MG5

Yes, I've made sure that the app has no scheduled charging times at all and no restrictions of time etc. I just think that BP pulse are rubbish!!

    Charging MG5

Hi Jomarkh Thanks for your reply. I've had issues since its installation as it completely charged up last Sunday but more often than not the charger doesn't charge the mg. I know its not the car because I've used Tesco, the garage that it came from and a couple of public chargers. The fault...

    Charging MG5

Still having problems with my home BP Pulse charger (didn't have a choice as it was Motability). Just to double check when connecting 1 Car should be completely switched off but unlocked 2 Plug in charger firmly 3 Wait for green light on charger and "connecting sound" 4 Lock car Is that right...

    Have car will travel!

Now clocked up over 400 miles (I don't have to travel far) and it's cost me about £20 (would have been £70-£80 with my previous petrol car. Still loving the EV, using it mainly in eco with kers3 and occasionally cruise control when on the A50 or A500 around Stoke on Trent - seems to be averaging...

    Have car will travel!

Hello BSing, Thank you for your advice and, although I have been doing that, it has been erratic. However, my garage said to give it the plug a good shove into the car and it charged up to 96% last night with a projected range of 250 miles so I'm now a happy bunny. Let's hope it works again next...

    Have car will travel!

Problems again as there has been one charge on the 26th but failures each time since when checking. I've followed troubleshooting hints for BP Charge master home charger including resetting. I've tried started the car completely off and with the star button pressed and with it full on. I've...

    Have car will travel!

Seemed to be a temporary hitch as it worked yesterday. All sorted.

    Have car will travel!

Collected my MG5 long range today and absolutely love it although the home charger won't charge it - no surprise there then with BP. Charged at 50 kw charger up to 80% and only cost just over £8. To fit wheelchair more easily I've removed the parcel shelf but is there anywhere to store it...

MG Pilot (no puns about "airplane - the movie")!

In preparation for picking up my MG5 next month, I'm now reading and watching videos about the "Pilot". Some videos say that some of the systems can be dangerous while other facilities are great. What's the general feeling? Use all or some or switch it off? Looking forward to reading your...

    Motability EV cars

The latest is that BP have been in touch and the charger will (??) be fitted on the 9th March. Having asked, I was assured that it is "smart" so can be set to charge at specific times and the cable will be long enough to stretch around the back of my bungalow if I so wish!! So far so good but...

    Motability EV cars

Hello all and here's an update so far. I’m collecting my first electric car (MG5 EV estate) on 22nd March, and was informed 3 months ago about unlooping my electricity supply and having to install an isolator switch. I have to admit that my initial reaction was to leave it and go petrol or...

    Motability EV cars

Hello Dave, Thanks for that and I'm surprised that you were charged for the unlooping as Western Power have told me that its free of charge and all properties will be unlooped in the next few years!!

    FRUNK??

Can the space under the bonnet really hold the charging cable in it's bag and is it advisable in the long term? When the boot is full of wheelchair, grandchildren's paraphernalia, holiday suitcases etc that space would be ideal - particularly as that's where the charging socket is. Any ideas...

Had the under bonnet cover off today surprised by what I saw

I can see the advantage as a wheelchair user. The boot is full of wheelchair (and occasionally grandchildren's paraphernalia, or suit cases if we are on holiday) so access from the bonnet makes sense providing it's safe, dry and not excessively heavy. I can experiment when I collect my car next...

Had the under bonnet cover off today surprised by what I saw

I'm still intrigued by the idea of popping the bag with the charging cable under the bonnet. It's certainly very practical as the charging point is at the front but does it really fit under the bonnet without bulging? My dealership also say that it's not designed to be load bearing and would not...
