    USB disk identification failure

My wife's phone causes the USB disk identification failure message to repeatedly pop up and then disappear while it is connected to the usb port. My phone has never caused it using exactly the same cable. No idea why. Also, my 12V battery drained after my radio stopped working. Not sure if that...

    Close to zero?

You need the app for 'older' Tesla chargers. The ones I've used have no screen or contactless payment method so you have to go through the app. I've not used any of their newer chargers yet.

    Type 2 cables redundant?

I use my type 2 cable all the time when I'm in Scotland where I have no home charging and park the other side of the road from the first floor flat, so no granny charging possible. Luckily there are low powered street side chargers very close by and I use those as they are cheaper than rapids. I...

    Slow vs "Fast" charging confusion

Not necessarily true. Some of the early cars could use 3 phase charging. Mine will happily pull around 10kW on a suitable (22kW) charger. The op has shown a photo of his charge port which shows the bottom two pins being metal so his car should do the same.

Endless problems with this terrible car

I love the heating in mine too. It seems more 'even' somehow than other cars we've had. However, the heated seats are useful for us as my wife often wants things warmer than I do, so she can turn hers on without whacking the heating up to where I find it uncomfortable and we're both happy!

Endless problems with this terrible car

If you get a good Trophy, you're also sitting pretty (and can be sitting warm too, if you want to!). We've had ours for 16 months and, other than its first service, it's only been back to the dealer for the mandatory lock in recall and also the replacement oil breather that a number of early...

    Slow vs "Fast" charging confusion

This is important to check. Look at the charge port on your car. If it is 3 phase there will be metal pins in the L2 and L3 sockets. If it doesn't have metal pins there, then it is not 3 phase and will not support 11kW charging whatever cable you use.

    Non-Tesla EV Charging

I'm pretty sure they are. The couple I have used from there were. You can always check by selecting a charge station in the app. When it opens you'll see details including the cost at different times of the day. Directly beneath that it says Pay Less With Membership which wouldn't be there if it...

    Non-Tesla EV Charging

The app used to say 'Charge your non Tesla' but that's been changed to 'Charge your EV'. Press that and you'll see the map and search bar which will show the chargers open to non Teslas.

SE LR not achieving range I'd expect. Anyone to compare with?

Sounds a bit low to me, but I guess it depends on how hilly things were. My last long journey in our Trophy was in February this year from Musselburgh in Scotland to our home in south Cambridgeshire, so mostly down the A1 with ACC set at 70mph. We had AC on set around 23 degrees and I was in...

MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

Thanks - just updated my Trophy (also R33) and probably would have given up if you hadn't mentioned the greyed out button. It took 2 or 3 minutes for that button to become active so that I could start the update. The update then took a further 35 minutes or so. Downloading and extracting the...

    Nurburgring Hot Lap

Ah, didn't spot the caption! Ooops!

    Nurburgring Hot Lap

I don't think it is one lap that's being shown. At 4.33 it shows 54% battery, then there's a 'fast forward' bit after which it has 80% charge remaining. That's some regen there!! 🤣

    Latest software update

Add R29 to your Trophy list! (Although I'm now on 33.)

Any EV advice for my first long trip?

I would expect to charge once on that trip. Like @Tight Git, I was going to mention Reading Services. I stopped there on a recent trip to Wales and charged at the Gridserve chargers there, pointing out all the Tesla chargers to my son. If only I'd checked the Tesla app and seen those were open...

    Mg4 charging lights not working

Here's a thread all about it. Hopefully you'll go in at page 2 as there is a youtube video part way down the page showing the fix by pulling the fuse. I fixed mine by briefly disconnecting the 12v battery then reconnecting it. That will also be somewhere in the same thread. MG4 Charging port...

    Mg4 charging lights not working

Yes, but look at @siteguru post above for likely fixes.

    ...like teardrops...in the rain 😥

I've used rapid chargers (Gridserve and Tesla) in pouring rain with no problems. Just plugged in as usual and let it get on with it. Same with AC charging at home.

AC charge rate slowly decreases to 1kw

@TheMDawg says so in his post, so not that!

MG4 Powering down if you wish to remain seated in the car.

Mine will start charging on any type of charger AC or DC when its unlocked.
