My friend said he tried that several times and didn't work.... so when it eventually went to the garage what they did was touch each cable together, the positive and negative and that released any remaining charge I guess and cleared it. Then it worked. Just incase it happened to anyone else.

It sounds strange to have a cable that has LED's going down the actual cable, not something I can see MG giving you. If I was you I'd buy one next day delivery from Amazon and demand some money back from MG. In future don't let your battery get so low, just pop it on a fast charger and charge...

I get all that with my Samsung Galaxy phone which I can use all of the time not only in the car. You will never beat Google maps and all the apps on apple carplay or android auto are far better than anything MG will ever do
