Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

Yes, I have already switched to Agile and I compared the prices for the last month and would have saved 9 days out of 10, one day as much as £10. My grid electricity use only goes high between October - February as I use way more electricity with the heat pump than either car. I can control the...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

I don’t have to charge every day, perhaps each car once a week so I will never have to charge a car at expensive rates. If I were that desperate for a charge I could use a public charger. My main issue with higher rates is making sure I have enough battery capacity to see me through and do...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

But for me it looks like it would suit my needs better, I am retired, I have solar, ASHP and battery storage. I can easily avoid that 4-8pm peak period using the battery alone. Come summer months I use no peak rate electricity at all.

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

That’s interesting, I was on Agile prior to energy crisis and switched as the prices went through the roof. I have just checked and the rates for the last month at least are generally better and longer periods of off peak that would certainly suit me better as I have battery storage, solar and 2...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

I find the MyEnergi app excellent, set schedules on it for Zappi and Eddi and can monitor battery consumption and solar generation from anywhere.

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

It’s nothing to do with Zappi, it’s the Octopus app, I have lost facility to add anything despite deleting and reinstalling on both iPhone and iPad. Waiting on them to come up with a fix.

The same rate for the house. I charge batteries and run domestic appliances during same off peak windows at 7.5p Beware, I tried to switch so that IO could integrate with my Zappi, now that app will not connect to any car or device. Octopus have so far been unable to resolve the issue although...

    PodPoint at Lidl

I know that legislation was “temporarily” withdrawn and that the politics behind it are complicated even so I still wouldn’t pay a PCN. Apparently they get in the region of 600,000 unpaid notices every year so they ain’t likely to pursue a single ticket. If everyone refused to pay these notices...

Ignore PPC notices in Scotland, they can’t enforce it as it‘s only the driver who is responsible not the registered keeper. Different legislation south of the border means they can theoretically pursue it.

    One pedal driving survey

I can 1 pedal drive in our BMW i3 99% of the time, it comes to a complete halt and very quickly. We’ve had it for over 4 years and zero issues with brakes or discs, loads of life left in pads.

    Blinded by the price!

But the Tesla Model 3 looks awful, seriously dull car. I’ve yet to speak to one owner yet who likes their car. I was intending to rent a Model Y this summer but one of my neighbours who owns a 72 plate swayed me even further as he hates his car with a passion and is already getting rid of it. I...

    Blinded by the price!

Everyone I know who has or has owned a Tesla has hated them, including build quality and customer service. Panel gaps, cheap interiors and everything controlled through that screen. Both cars also have performance that you will never be able to use. Just silly!

    Missing your in-car CD player?

No, the sound quality isn’t very good!

Washing the MG4 - useful tip - place the wipers in the service position - here's how

Nearly every new car is like this now. I would suggest it’s pretty obvious that the wiper blade is not going to lift past the bonnet hence I have and would refer to the manual.

Washing the MG4 - useful tip - place the wipers in the service position - here's how

It’s not a design fault, the wipers are behind the top of the bonnet to improve aerodynamics. Read the manual of any such car and they will all have a service position some of which are very obvious. I’ve had several cars with a similar set up, now an Enyaq, which actually has the service...

    MG4 Mats Availability

Good universal mats is your best bet, widely available but don’t buy really cheap ones. I would avoid carpets mats which is no doubt what MG will release as all the do is trap dirt and particularly moisture especially this time of year. Inside of the car will be sodden.

Washing the MG4 - useful tip - place the wipers in the service position - here's how

Almost all new cars are the same, the wiper blades are below the level of the bonnet for aerodynamics, so yes you are going to have to put them in the service position if you want to lift them.
