It might be worth checking all the settings in your ABRP app. There's lots of tweaks to get as close to the real performance of your car. Probably the most important one in this instance is the 'Reference consumption' which you can set to whatever your own experience is. It measures it in Wh/km...
Are you sure ABRP has updated their info for the new ZS EV? That range looks like what it would quote for the old version with 44kWh battery.
Even with a hilly trip you'd expect to be using about 20kWh/100km or less which would give you a range of at least 255km.
I got a flat tyre with sidewall damage last year and the Primacy 3 wasn't available so they replaced it with a Primacy 4 which has a slightly different tread pattern but I was assured it wouldn't cause issues and that's been the case.
I think this, like with some previous posts, is more likely to be because the HVAC is on when you are taking the reading (it normally predicts a 15% reduction). Turn it off and see what range is shown.
I don't have an OBDII but the voltage at full charge shows on the dash panel as 451v since the BMS update. I will give the replug in a go to see if it does bring it back up.
Thanks @Coulomb that makes sense to me. I also reset the accumulated trip meter a little while ago and it's 15.0 kW/100km now when it used to be 14.6 so that would probably be effecting the GOM but I'd be interested to see the actual SoH.
I've just done a full charge and balance on my Gen1 ZS EV and noticed that when it reached 100% the GOM said 252km but once balancing had finished it was 250km. Has anyone else noticed this or can explain what's happening?
I've balanced the battery every month or two over the year and a half...
There are quite a few threads on this problem and even more suggested fixes that work for some people but not all. The only solution that seems foolproof (certainly for me) is the AAWireless AAWireless | Wireless Android Auto™ for everyone that plugs into the USB and just works. It costs a bit...
I've recently had problems with Android Auto too - losing some apps, not remembering last app open or which point in playlists. I uninstalled and reinstalled on my phone and it's fine now. I think one of the recent updates may have had some bugs.
I've had a similar drop recently. For the first 15 months the maximum range stayed at 263km when I did a balance charge roughly once a month (regular charging is normally to 80%). But the last two full charges have gone down to 250km. I also hadn't reset the trip meter for a while and wondered...
The max/80% button is on the charger, not the car menu. The version of the ZS EV we have in Australia (until the new models arrive after July, hopefully) doesn't have a battery menu.
Some chargers may be different but the NRMA or other Tritium chargers should have that choice between 80% or full.
Good points @hmadsen, though here in Australia it's much warmer and we can usually rely on about 18-20 kWhr/100km on the motorway at 110km/h which would work out to 360-400km for the new LR.
As far as I know most of the chargers in NSW, including the NRMA 50kW CCS 'fast chargers' (they brand them fast but 50kw is more usually classed as 'rapid') allow you to charge to 100%. There's a button where you can choose 'max' or 80%.
Be aware though that the charger goes very slowly after...
No you don't need all that technical knowledge to drive and enjoy the car and it's many benefits. You'll get used to the variation in efficiency due to factors like temperature, driving speed etc, which is no different to an ICE car. I enjoy the effortlessness of the driving experience that...
Here's the ABRP suggested route for Brisbane to Sydney. 5 stops along the way and there are others if any of those were out of order. The longest trip I've done is Tweed to Coffs Harbour (about 600km round trip) and it was reasonably stress-free even though I'd only had the car a few weeks and...
All the ZS EV models in Australia have had just the ZS EV badge on the back and after a while an MG Pilot badge was added. The 'electric' badge has only ever been used in India.
I think the Tauranga dealer wasn't quite right though. EV adoption in Australia hasn't been restricted to cities. The...
There's been a bit of discussion about this. See this thread: Pedestrian warning sound
It's hard to hear from inside the car but apparently is audible to pedestrians. This video is a quite comprehensive test.
No worries Ron, glad to be of help. The real range depletion caused by the HVAC probably isn't as drastic as they predict (more like 10%) but it's handy to know roughly how much difference it makes if you need to save battery. I've been surprised how much wet roads and headwinds also reduce the...
I've had a look all over mine and it looks like it's one of the dampers on the underside of the bonnet (there's 4). Should be fairly easy to pop back in.
