    How long...…......

Similar process but shorter experience. My 5 was in for 3 and half weeks over last Christmas. So much shorter - but the process was the same. Lots of trial and error, starting with the simple and cheap fixes and slowly moving to the more expensive solutions. The cycle was slowed because 1)...

    Emergency charge port release

Shiv, the emergency release is for a cable stuck in the charging port. But it is not a robust system, for a trapped cable the technique is a gentle pull on the cable and simultaneously a pull on the stuck charging cable. So once you solve the flap problem check that a charging cable will lock...

What is the most charge power people have got?

The charge rate is the series of the capability of the charger you are using at the SOC of the battery. A lower age SOC will enable the battery to charge faster. This video covers the charge curve - the ability of the battery and on-board charger to handle higher power. This example is pre...

    KERS!

I mostly drive in 3, but switch to 1 for long descents as this keeps the car rolling at a reasonable speed. Example last Sunday, decent from the Mam Ratigain pass at 390m to Glenelg at sea level, a distance of 5 and a half miles. Rolling at 30 to 40 mph. Gained 9 miles range (at least...

Charger connected warning, whilst driving. Anyone else seen this?

Les Thanks. Still with dealer. So now 4 weeks without a car. They get the system failure message. Checked wiring and sent photos to MG. Updated software (not stated which software). CCU passes diagnostics. MG and dealer passing messages on additional tests. Seems to happen in series...

Charger connected warning, whilst driving. Anyone else seen this?

Les. Yes Mk 1 LR exclusive. Now back at dealer - I drove it, lift back with the AA who did not attempt to fix it - probably wise and saved time. Currently writing a long e-mail with the details of the faults. Thanks

Charger connected warning, whilst driving. Anyone else seen this?

Next part of story. Drove to nearest public type 2 charger - used many times in the past. Connected but would not start charge. Red light flickering on dash - red outline of car with exclamation mark. Which is the system failure message. Switched on and off - system failure message...

Charger connected warning, whilst driving. Anyone else seen this?

Gomev - Thanks Update this morning. Did not connect the MG5 to the home charger last night. Same message this morning "Connected Uncharged". Started 7kW charge = ok Disconnected charger. System ready and moved car on the driveway. So concerned that message appeared again. Logical that...

Charger connected warning, whilst driving. Anyone else seen this?

Similar fault - but was parked this evening in an NCP car park in Glasgow. Returned after 2 hours. Filthy weather - lashing rain - 4degC. Red "Charger Connected" on screen. Tried to switch to Drive - message was "Connected Uncharged". Switched on/off several times. Locked/Unlocked several...

MG5 LR not accepting charge ? Why

I have also had to footer around with these. Seemed that having the car locked made a difference. Though could unlock the car once the CCS cable was locked in the car and charging. Though tried several minor changes in process - so this may not be the definitive trick.

    Looking to buy a used 2022 (pre-facelift) MG5 LR

Many of the public charge points in Scotland are part of the Chargeplace Scotland network (CPS). Works best if you have an RFID card (£10). There is an app to log in to chargers, which the internet suggests can be flaky (may be phone network) - I dont use this so I cant confirm. The CPS app...

First Lift in an MG5 taxi into Glasgow - with 35k on the clock

W Weedavemac We talked about tyre wear and types. At 35k and increasing fast I realised I should have asked you if you have replaced yours and when? My as new are Bridgestone 205/60R16 96V - which I assume are MG standard fit as new .
