The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

Last couple of weeks have really reduced the Miles/kWh with the heater and demisters blowing. Winter is on its way! Impressive figure.

    Time For Underbody Protection?

I would normally have sprayed it on to be honest. While the car was bone dry when I applied it the temperature was not really that warm, so I used a brush just to ensure I got some additional protection before the winter, with the plan to do full job next summer. I have normally in the past used...

    Time For Underbody Protection?

I got the Dynax-UB 5 litre can for the underbody which was more than ample, I have still to do all the doors and cavities as I had missed the best of the warm weather, so they will have to wait until next year.

    Time For Underbody Protection?

For those who are hoping to keep their cars for a few years, it maybe worth considering giving your car some additional underbody protection against the coming UK salty roads. It's clear to see that MG have used 'NASA' technology to keep the weight down by making all parts as thin as possible...

I feel your first point is important, that the available data is sparse. I know from my own short time driving the MG5 that the MPK can vary so much depending on time of day (cold mornings) and the length and speed of the journey. We could do with more members reporting their data to draw any...

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

A very slight improvement this month, but probably due to only 1 long journey to the lakes, all the rest have been on the daily commute through town traffic, hence the low average speed.

I've never had such a bad car. MG5 EV

J Hi Aniballopes, the MG5 certainly has some quirks, but regarding the points you highlighted, I too am a similar height and find the seating position very comfortable, I take it you have adjusted the steering wheel to the best position for your size?. I think you can rest assured that there is...

This is a really useful piece of data to give an idea of efficiency Vs cold weather impact over an extended period. I feel inspired to fire up a spread sheet.

    Insurance, crazy renewal

We have just received our insurance renewal through, interestingly, tried my normal go to comparison site and they can't beat it. £297.63 with Aviva, Bit of a relief after seeing some of the other renewal quotes people had received

    2nd Service

I would be interested to know this myself, is there a standard 'menu price' across MG dealers for servicing or are they all charging their own price?
