I can't unplug mine while it's charging thankfully. It could also cause sparking and erosion of the contact pins. So at least they've got that part right.
Yes I realise. It's just so funny what the manual says. In some areas I would imagine only being able to use the car a few times a year. Like the West coast of Scotland. Unless you can charge under cover of course. I mean on the one hand we have a people that have companies that don't seem to be...
Our user manuals (yes, I've actually read a fair bit of it) tell us not to attempt charging our vehicles whilst it it raining or if we might stand in water (presumably snow and ice counts).
Of course, we have to take this with a pinch of salt - oh, wait a minute that will make us even more...
I see you say on high beam the light seems to go up the way. Mine does that with the original halogens... I intend fitting LEDs too. They will be Twenty20 make as I've used them before and are one of the very few to conform properly although not approved as yet. Did you have any issue fitting...
I've got my Bosch blades now and although I've not fitted then yet (waiting for winter to pass) I've held them against the originals and they look like they'll be a direct replacement.
I have not read your complete works as above but caught and agree with the epilogue. I have to say the situation in Scotland is similar with misleading official efficiency figures having our Transport Minister believing the government investment in the publicly funded network has been worth it...
You are correct in many ways but without criticism how are we to determine if a product is for us or not. I've no doubt my car is in the minority and the 'small' niggles will be corrected at the next service. It's just my humble opinion that I have not had with any other car I've had in the 47...
Ouch! Windows 95 was so experimental too. Personally I had no issues with it. I looked after several pcs in our workshop and upgraded as soon as possible to the latest systems with good old Windows 7 being favourite. Our electron microscope ran IBM's OS2. That came out mid-nineties and as far as...
Totally agree. With you all the way. After 45 years and more using computers in a wide array of circumstances gives great experience in realising so much about current systems. Just as you have described. That's why it's so interesting having the possibility of using a tablet of our own. Using...
Ditto... Android is Linux. For some strange reason a lot of car manufacturers have not a Scoobie when it comes to software. There are a few that actually have had their own system designed from scratch and critics have really liked one or two of them. So we poor mortals have to put up with the...
My front screen heating/demisting brings on the AC automatically. I now use this till the screen's clear and leave it to heat the car for a short period after then switch back to heating the car gently. This is seeming to be effective and reasonably economic with electricity.
I agree with a lot of your sentiments. Having worked with computers and various operating systems most of my working lifei understand the need for simplicity. This shows in the mobile phones that I buy. The latest I bought is an attempt at reliability, ruggedness and simplicity. I'm hoping that...
I nice review. I think I've said in my opening post that I've had many cars over the years with only one rear wheel drive. It was murder in the slippy conditions and the other day my cousin's husband echoed his woes with his 5 series beamer in the winter.
Well it's been about one year since this thread was started and nothing concrete posted about what is the easiest way to free the flap and what can be done to permanently keep it free. I had a heat gun on mine for a good five minutes yesterday and still would not open. Seemed to be stuck further...
