    Sticky steering in CruiseControl

I find this during longer journeys, with or without cruise control. I wondered if it was something to do with the steering rack getting warm/cold, or maybe the adaptive assistance reducing automatically when at motorway speeds. If I owned the car I'd be more worried but my lease ends in June so...

Radio not turning off when turn car off

This sounds like some sort of fudge. One thing I've noticed on mine (1st gen) is that when I turn the engine off, the radio appears to turn off, but it holds the Bluetooth open to the phone. This means that if I'm on a call, it goes silent but the phone doesn't switch back to phone mode, it...

What do you think of mg5 insurance 32d?

Mines on an unlimited mileage company policy any employee over 25 plus spouse, it's £870 a year, with Aviva Fleet. They're the only ones that would offer me a company policy for one vehicle. Simon

    MG5 Charging Problem

I guess with the Tesla chargers they are in public trials, part of that is to see how difficult it is. Wouldn't blame them if they decide not to bother opening it up further!

    MG5 Charging Problem

I'm seeing this more and more, gridserve had a problem with this that they've fixed recently, I never used to have issues with Tesla chargers until the last couple of months and now they never work. Since it's last update, my home charger now no longer recognises that the car is fully charged...

Running with the under bonnet cover removed

It is now. It's an increasingly rare 1.4 16V and there's only 141 of them left on UK roads now according to DVLA. For context, there are 271 Triumph Spitfire Mk IVs (1972 to 77ish) which is what used to live in the garage till I had kids!

Running with the under bonnet cover removed

🤣 In truth, still tucked up cosy in my garage!

Running with the under bonnet cover removed

Oh now there's a good idea! I remember years ago using the same trick to change the headlamp alignment on my 98 Puma when going abroad. I suspect the bits of string are still there 😁 Thanks.

Running with the under bonnet cover removed

During my trip back from Edinburgh Thursday I had my first major issue with the 5. Pulled over to charge at a CPS charger and the first one failed, leaving me with a system error on the car. No hope of getting hold of MG Assist, I decided to unplug and leave the car for 10 minutes to see if that...

    Planning my first proper trip

+1 for just driving the darn thing. Okay I work for myself so time is also money, but to be honest the heater doesn't make a massive difference as far as I can tell, it's all about the outside temperature and having the headlights on. Driving into a headwind on the M4 in the dark with the wipers...

Multiple Instances Of Charging Issues At Instavolt

I had this issue at Reading services westbound last week, two gridserve piles, both of which tried to start, then said my car sent "an unexpected message" or some such. Went along to the next services, exactly the same machine, started fine. Only charged at 30kw which was annoying as by then I...

    I have it

Had mine since the start of July and have done 6300 miles so far. Absolutely solid, you'll love it. If you have the windows tinted just dont go for privacy glass in the back as the lack of a rear courtesy light will be really noticeable!!

    Good colour choice 😁

Bit of reassurance for the MG5

It doesn't have front sensors, only rear. that's one of the quirks, radar cruise control and collision detection but no front sensors. But the front is really easy to place, much easier than my Passat was.

Bit of reassurance for the MG5

Hi Tweed Thought I'd throw my two pence in. Got mine two months ago, LR Exclusive in Silver, replacing a Passat Highline estate. I actually chose the MG5, mine is a company lease but it's my company so I only have myself to argue with! I was the same as you, not really convinced about the make...

    MG5 Front Collision Avoidance

The ACC can be adjusted by twisting the stack clockwise, so it allows a shorter gap between you and the car in front before stepping in. Of course this resets every time you start the car.

😎 KEEP YOUR SEATS COOL 😎

+1 for the tinted windows. Makes a huge difference, cost me 240 quid and added bonus of a little more security (well, cost the company 240 quid!)

The one really irritating thing about the MG5...

Just this! If Ive been using the BT via my phone (which I do most of the time) then later get in the car without my phone or with the BT turned off after 10 seconds it goes to AM radio which is just noise and scares the crap out of me. The "take your key" thing happens to me if I have my key in...

    Tyre pressures and fuses

Seems odd, every car I've ever had you had to adjust those... Thanks I'll grab a pack of 15a fuses before I open it up 👍

    Tyre pressures and fuses

Hi all On holiday, and of course I left the book behind... What are the tyre pressures supposed to be fully loaded? The only label I can find on the car suggests 32psi for everything regardless of the load? Also, when I went to pump the tyres up the fuse in the 12v accessory appears to have...
