The top 3-4 energy players are offering pretty similar deals at the moment, which comes as no surprise really I guess, playing one against the other.

I am in the same situation, my two year fix with EDF ends at the end of April.
The 5 hours at 4.5p / kWh is super cheap, based on current prices.
The new deal I have been offered by them, is only a one year fix deal and the same five hours of “off peak” is 8.99p / kWh.
So yeah, it’s double but...

I was criticising your comment, I was just making the point that some new members maybe still using one of the older "non - smart" wall box ( like myself ).
Just trying to save them a bit of time by getting excited about chasing a deal, that is not available to them and...
There is not a “one fit suits all” with energy tariffs to be sure.
IF you can utilise the full 7 hours of the the off peak rate it could work out really well !.

I have just run a duel fuel quote for e.on tariff and compared it to the deal I was recently offered about two weeks ago, from my current supplier which is EDF.
TBH - tariff wise it is very close, however the cheaper rate for EDF is only 5 hours.
The e.on deal is for 7 hours on a very similar...
Can I assume that the 5p BG tariff is only available for use, with their own Hive wall boxes then ?.
I ask, because they appear to be offering a 5p rate to charge the car and then charging 9p for any other white goods used on the off peak rate.
