    Ohme home charger tripping

.. you just need a decent electriction who will spend the time to look at your system and diagnose your fault, sadly they are few and far between. If it helps I have 1960 wiring in my house (after a basic EICR), so have had the DNO (big earth on a new pole outside- droplink-TNCS?), smart meter...

    Ohme home charger tripping

same combination, no problems ever encountered here - as the Ohme unit is factory sealed, I suspect that you’ll need to contact the installer.

    Ohme home charger tripping

If I remeber correctly you have a 3 year guarantee on the ohme installation & x? years warranty on the MG - if the car is tripping all chargers, I'd ring their helpline / dealer.

Tesla Superchargers free to all today

Thats good to know!, as had 117 in my head, but never seen it - maybe I have had 86kWh?, anyway the reality is that according to my last charge I took in 44kWh in just over 45 mins = perfect 👌

Tesla Superchargers free to all today

maybe?, I suspect software related as I have the basic SR model - almost 12 months old (1st batch), even in "hot" (I chose my words carefully here as I'm talking about the UK summer 2023:poop:) weather, I've never seen anyting above 84kWh (whether its tesla (upto 250), fastned (upto 300), or MFG...

Tesla Superchargers free to all today

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: - only if you have a tesla - never ever seen my MG4 go over 84kWh, & by the time i get there all the other non-tesla owners will be queuing to be on the station, and will no doubt complain about tesla queues & taking up 2 bays as their charge point is on the...

Tesla Superchargers free to all today

Energy saving for the terminally dim

Its all dependent of your local grid conditions (whether its voltage from your DNO or from your home system)

Energy saving for the terminally dim

Its crackers in this day and age with instant billing only a few of the energy companies allow you to pay the exact amount each month! (we use EDF)- I used to have a single local supplier (or boiler juice), but the lorry driver strike / ukraine war (strange how they could always deliver / drop...

Energy saving for the terminally dim

Bizarrely, we had something similar, after moaning to the electric company (as they couldn’t initially get my smart meter to connect to their network for 6 months), once it was working they put us on direct debit – whole amount, so we get an actual monthly bill on the same date every month, and...

    Any better overnight tariffs?

I've done it myself - but it doesn't make me sleep well! wasn't Grenfell caused by a simple household fridge (or similar?) I find that the 13A fuse gets warm (certainly if I'm granny charging away from home)

    Any better overnight tariffs?

Completly agree - with such a horrendous day rate, people will start to take fire risks, and do washing / dishwasher overnight & alongside EV charging & heat pumps & hot water heating - its not going to end well.

    Any better overnight tariffs?

Looks like EDF is back - EV Tariff - Energy for Your Electric Car and Home for Less, alas at 8p / unit off peak (35hrs / week), which is to be expected given the competition (or lack of) - of course its only any good if you are a pretty heavy user, and have the facilities to cover the peak rate...

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

EVM did an interesting piece recently on a van driver who parked his van overnight in a 100KW+? bay, & he deserves everything he gets, but for the vast majority extra overstay charges should be banned - in the next few weeks there is a consultation on this sort of thing with dodgy parking...

    ChargePlace Scotland overstay fees

This is going to be the next national scandal - I had one 2 years ago with a EV hire vehicle (which Enterprise car club just paid without question), charged my employer without any question, these private parking companies are corrupt.

    Fixed rate energy tariffs.

As I've noted every one is different, but 1/2 - 1 MW per month cost us between £22.5 to £45 (max., as I've ignored the "free" solar ~ 50-100kw per week in summer), hence we should achieve payback in around 3 years, at current rates.

    Fixed rate energy tariffs.

I appreciate that, but were doing a full renovation, so took the opportunity to future proof the house, whilst we had funds (and manpower) available.

    Fixed rate energy tariffs.

... we were, but with the right tariff & optimum kit, we save around £200-£250 / month, the key thing is to get the cheapest off peak tariff available, currently octopus @ 7.5p, so in a years time, our monthly cost is going to increase by around £10 / month.
