This is what I was referring to, intelligent charging. Under certain conditions it will. It won’t if the HV is low or if a charger is plugged in (and not charging)
No, because the dashcam kit has a battery monitor and is set to cut off at a certain voltage or after 12 hours. The MG4 also tops up the 12v if need from high voltage when parked
Yes, mine is actually using setup now. He swapped it to that as I has some slightly odd behaviour. Was working in ok but in parking mode cameras were coming on and off more than they should due to a voltage fluctuation. Only had it changed a month or so ago
I’ve edited my original post
Thought I’d queried this with my installer
Quote from his response
“Depending on what the car is doing it can go live without the ignition being on like in the older cars, this is common on EV’s.
It will also be on more than normal as the 12v battery can get some hammer during winter with...
Something like that. This is the hardwire kit in mine I believe https://www.dashcams.co.uk/product-page/tornado-dashcam-hardwire-cable-kit-two-camera-supply-system
The panel at the side pops off with a trim remover and then access to the fuse box is gained by removing some screws and popping...
As above all I know is my setup works, it’s using a battery monitor for parking mode, and it behaves as expected when car is turned on.
As I said it does also reactive the switches live when the car is topping up the 12v.
Also remember him saying the orientation of the piggybacks in the free...
Well my install seems ok but Im just going off what my installer said.
It does monitor the voltage too and will turn off when the below 12v.
Also the car itself monitors the voltage and top the battery up every so often, you can tell it’s doing this as it shows 14v in the app. It’s possible...
Yes by the drivers knee, you access it by first taking off the panel on the side which then allows access to remove some screws to release the panel by the knee
Here you go. Also ground bolt on the right, and piggy backs need to be in that orientation
Edit: swapped picture as now using a different switched fuse
Cost varies by location, and you might be able to get a rough idea here but if your location isn't there he will give you a custom quote.

I paid less than £200 for install of 2 cams I already had and new hardwire/battery...
Mine is on finance, so I would say no.
It's not technically a perminent modification althought I didn't bother removing the hardwire kit from my last car - if anything it would be useful to the next owner.
Had my dashcams professionally reinstalled today.
For anyone interested they were able to use empty live and switched live slots in the fuse box rather than tapping onto existing fuses. He installed a battery monitor to ensure voltage doesn't drop too low.
I will try and get the pictures and...
