Show off your car on collection day thread?

5900% ?! Did Santander manage to land on list of sanctions?! That's a wee bit steep! Glad they got it fixed!

    REAR NUMBER PLATE SOLUTION

I personally just got a taller plate (my thread is mentioned above 🙏), but I am amused by your stealth EV look sans badges. I may go the other way and add a knockoff Tesla plaid badge I got from China, just to be cheeky.

    Communication error starting CCS charge?

Funny enough I got a very similar error at Ionity on Saturday and after locking doors, it worked straight away.

    Communication error starting CCS charge?

Do you know if the charger was an ABB (most upgraded MSAs with Gridserve branding) or Tritium (such as at Rugby Services) ? Any photo of the error on screen?

Plug in and Charge like Tesla - Possible with the MG5?

I think I have a hack for the Tesla destination chargers, but after buying a v2 charger and setting it to Tesla mode, I've found the car works on it just fine. I would suggest plugging in the car and not immediately locking it. Plug car in and wait for car to connect in its own time. That...

    Washer Fluid Low Level Warning

I don't think I've ever owned a car with a low washer fluid light... I've had Ford, Jaguar, Mitsubishi, and now MG and I can't think of having ever seen this light...

Plug in and Charge like Tesla - Possible with the MG5?

I would expect it to work. Fastned has an exceptions list and the only SAIC vehicle on it so far is the Maxus edeliver. https://support.fastned.nl/hc/en-gb/articles/115012747127-Autocharge-

Plug in and Charge like Tesla - Possible with the MG5?

Gridserve have promised this functionality will be coming soon. Technically, any company that provides CCS charging should be able to do this, if they set up their backend correctly. My tweet was mentioned in regards to Raw Charging, who confirmed they apparently support this feature as well...

Plug in and Charge like Tesla - Possible with the MG5?

Once the charging starts, if you open the fastned app you can remotely manage the charge and see how far along it is in addition to the charger disapay. :)

Plug in and Charge like Tesla - Possible with the MG5?

I have now tested and can confirm MG5 LR works with Fastned Autocharge feature. Register car in app, plug in ccs cable, then start charge in app. If all synced up, next time you plug in, it will start charging without any manual intervention… no buttons to press, no app to open, it just wakes...

Type 1 to Type 2 Adaptor

shhhh realistically, the logical solution is to rent a Tesla due to their US charging network... however, if you look at round trip shipping costs and compare to renting a budget ICE vehicle for 2+ weeks, the costs are somewhat similar... to rent a car with the storage of the MG5, you actually...

Type 1 to Type 2 Adaptor

Ok really good to know there are no issues on the 50kw units! I'm thinking of taking my MG5 to the USA and doing a road trip when I've paid off the finance in a few years. :) Just a question though, as I'm not sure I entirely understood your wording... the 120kw units... the way you phrased it...

Type 1 to Type 2 Adaptor

I'm curious about the CCS adapter as most of them are only rated to 150 amps, but at 70kw charging rate, that's more in the 200 amp territory... what's the fasted rapid DC charge you've managed and did the adapter get warm, did it limit the charge? (Assuming you've used it on a charger capable...
