7-speed dct
A **7-speed DCT** is a **seven-speed dual-clutch transmission** used in vehicles.
- **7-speed**: it has **7 forward gears**
- **DCT**: stands for **Dual-Clutch Transmission**
A dual-clutch transmission uses **two separate clutches** to pre-select gears, allowing **very fast and smooth gear changes** compared with a traditional manual or conventional automatic. It combines features of both:
- **manual transmission efficiency**
- **automatic transmission convenience**
It is commonly found in **cars, motorcycles, and performance vehicles**.
This might be the stupid question of the day?
But here goes.......
Reviewers of the latest HS PHEV talk about it having a 2 speed gearbox.
Is that only when using the high voltage battery? Then does it switch to a conventional 7 speed DCT transmission when running on the petrol engine?
