Well, as the title suggests, this is about my experience with my new ZS EV bought January 2025. Not sure where the last year has gone, it's been a busy time.

So, am I pleased with the ZS? Absolutely, yes I am. The car has been faultless except for a minor paint problem on the roof & bonnet which became apparent during the first 6 weeks of ownership. The car was purchased brand new, unregistered. But this paint issue was hard to spot. Anyway after I had noticed it & drawn the attention of my dealer to it, MG quickly sorted it out. It needed the roof & bonnet to be resprayed. But the work was carried out really well. You would never know it had been done.

Unfortunately, there was a infotainment software issue that arose after the paintwork has been sorted. The main Telematics software had a corruption causing the MG app to cease functioning. It was believed to have been caused by someone disconnecting the 12v battery at the paint shop while the car was switched on in the 'ready' state. This is like shutting down your Windows computer by pulling out the wall plug. It meant my dealer completely upgrading & updating the whole cars software. This cured the problem. It runs super smooth now.

Since then the car has been an absolute joy. Both my wife & I enjoy driving it. Ride comfort & general performance is great. Driving range is really good to. But the car overall is saving me around £105 per month compared to my previous petrol car, a Citroen C3 turbo 1.2 automatic. So quite a saving. I wonder if many petrol car owners realise just how much you can save. As far as I can tell the 3p per mile extra tax coming in during 2028 won't really make much difference to most of us.

Anyway, so far it's a win win all round. Very pleased with the car. (y)

Are you pleased with yours?

I'm very happy with my car and the saving compared to my last car which cost £120 every ten days to do the exact same journeys as I do now in my EV at a fraction of that cost.
In my first six months I compared my bills and I had saved £800 that was 18 months ago so the saving is even more.
My car has been great and I enjoy driving it.
I average 14000 miles do long journeys from one end of the country to the other and find charging on these journeys easy enough as long as I plan my route.
I hope to keep mine for many years and can't see any reason to go back the an engine.
