I am thinking of removing the plastic "aero dynamic" caps on the 18" Alloy wheels. My cousin has done it to his and the wheels look much better without the plastic caps. Has anyone else done the same ?
Not thought about this.
Do you have some pics?
Yeah there are three screwsInteresting, are those holes in the wheels the means by which the covers are secured?
That's a better idea.I am thinking of colouring the calipers as well
I'd like to take the plastic off to give the wheels a really good clean and get rid of all the brake dust. Do you have to remove the wheels to get to the screws?Yeah there are three screws
No, just give them a good firm pull.I'd like to take the plastic off to give the wheels a really good clean and get rid of all the brake dust. Do you have to remove the wheels to get to the screws?
ET is 41 for stock 18 inch rimsI’m looking into some aftermarket alloys for my S5 but keeping the stock tyres, can’t find the ET for the OEM alloys though. I have an excellent longstanding wheel dealer just down the road. Around £600 for a set of brand new properly specced alloys and fittings, seems much cheaper than the alloy wheel insurance packages which aren’t worth the trouble, and keep my factory alloys safely boxed up in the shed for when the car gets sold. It’s a VAG fitment so there will always be a market for the aftermarket alloys.
Another 10-15mm offset would make all the difference, I’m happy with the side profile of the 18”s, they’re just a tad too far set inside the arches…
