My car will sit in a works car park all week as I’m a tramper truck driver and don’t go home even if I’m in the yard

Yep they should check for updates and a general health check. Update service record and extend AA for another year. That's about it.

I use Cleevely. Same price, more done, better service and on your drive / workplace car park

i had a paid service plan so dealers it was ,
Richmond Bognor , took just about an hour to do a check over , free tea , coffee while you wait
I even had a look at the FL MG5 but I don’t like the centre console where gear selector is

How does this affect your warranty?
By law, any approved service agent who follows the service plan is allowed for warranty purposes. MG currently block non main dealers (illegally) however you can hand in your service receipts if you see it and MGF are obliged to add them to their system.

I just assumed they were so specific about using correct fluids etc that technically no one else can service them and therefore you’re forced to go MG main dealer

When you say approved service agent, who does the approving ?

I’ve just bought 12 month old MG5 from Holdcroft MG, I’m told that all service records are online and there’s no service book anymore, is this right and is there any way I can access the records

Hi, great choice of car. Yes all records are held by MG. You can buy a generic booklet and ask them to stamp it.

Just had my second servoce at Hendy Exeter, very reasonable charge of £138 and completed the job while you wait.

Had the MG5 (Mk1) 2nd service in July. 16k miles. Quoted £138 by one dealership and £80 by another (MG) about 10 miles away. Thought £80 was good plus, included the free AA membership thingy.
