I use my iPhone connected with Apple carplay for navigation and would like to use the iPhone of my wife to play music. I can connect her phone to the usb c port , but that doesnt work. If i connect her phone with bluetooth it works but disconnects my phone.
Is there a set up to use two iPhones at the same time, one for Apple carplay and navigation and one to play music?

I use CarPlay for Apple navigation and music via Spotify at the same time. I don’t understand why you would need to use 2 phones? Is it because there is downloaded music only on your wife’s phone?

I don’t think it’s possible to connect 2 phones simultaneously.

There's a socket for one phone to connect via, but that can be overidden by any other phones in the car taking over via bluetooth. If you really need more than one phone at a time, you may need to trade up to a way more expensive vehicle with simultaneous connection options for owner and chauffeur.

The only thing that I can think of would be to use dongles (USB-C to auxiliary) and auxiliary to whatever charging port your partner has on her phone. Can't say for sure that this would work but definitely worth a try! Don't forgot to buy an aux cord though! 😊

Shees! That's a bit much even in a fancy vehicle. Only one device can be used at once at this stage. To overcome your fussy problem, go back to using MG built in navigator, leaving USB free to listen to music from wifey phone 😉

Thank you. That will only work as long as the build navi is up to date. I am used to Waze which is updated daily with traffic info and blocked roads.

Ok. I get you. My son also likes to use his Google maps. I just read another guy had a wifi dongle in his USB so you can hook everyone up via wifi. I'm going to give it a go myself.
Also - l haven't had to use navigator much in the car but I'm guessing the MG one does not include traffic updates and we can't get software updates for it?

I'm replying again bcos you've got us all thinking... Lol
There's the wifi dongle option but what about your wife sharing her playlist to your connected iPhone that you can then use your favourite nav app as well as play selected music?
