So we drove to Southampton to view the university for the oldest daughter. Almost 2h drive each way.
On the way back the screen froze again showing the CarPlay summary screen. It was frozen for well over 20 mins.
19:52 on the top left and 20:10 on the car dashboard. Note amount of button pressing did anything. 360 camera not working, no way to deal with car ventilation system. Music was playing from the phone though. Tried unplugging the phone, quick restart of the car while at long traffic lights.. nothing worked.
Came home, parked, switched the car off, waited a couple of mins started it again and the infotainment system rebooted.
The car went in on Monday to check the issue. They told us software all good. They would need the car for 2 weeks to replace the screen if it keeps happening, so we are thinking of doing this now, before we sell the BMW.
Very annoying……
Oh And Westquay Mall in Southampton is a disgrace. I would say over 1000 spaces for parking and 6 charging points… WTF??
I don’t want free charging, but a possibility to charge and pay at least. Made it back home with about 20% juice ( we had charged to 100% the night before)
