Good afternoon all, I was wondering if anyone had issues with their 360° camera, in my case the front one were it flickers or goes blank intermittently in use?

Thanks for reply Ian Key. Unfortunately, it's been to the dealer twice with video evidence and they don't want to know to be honest. I'm in North London, just to give you an idea which 2 dealers I have been to.
It's still under warranty and I've recently I have taking the courtesy to diagnose the vehicle myself which has shown in the DTC it has more problems then I initially had thought it had.

Which in turn means they know that the problem exists and my reason for saying they don't want to know. Again just to be clear, I did try emailing and contacting them before I went and diagnosed it with the diagnostic tools.

I'm experiencing the exact same front camera issue since day one. It flickers intermittently, about 10% to 20% of the time, and occasionally displays a constant blue screen.

Once, it even froze on a blue screen. Restarting the infotainment (long press home button) didn't fix it so can confirm it's NOT software. I easily managed to fix it by physically wiping the front camera so it is probably a loose connection.

While it still flickers occasionally, it's mostly functional. I couldn't reproduce the issue at the dealer, he advised me to monitor it and bring it in if it worsens or becomes consistently reproducible, which hasn't happened yet, so I'm managing for now.

Were both dealers part of the Glyn Hopkin's group? Perhaps you need to go further afield.

Glyn Hopkin and another being Bushey Heath Garage. Do you have any recommendations? Or a list of MG Garages that know what they are doing? Just asking, because Glyn Hopkin said that their technician is one of best in the nation.

Or they know full well that intermittent issues are a nightmare to diagnose, and there is a lot of easier work about. My attitude would be if you can fix such an issue, and they are aware of the difficulties, then you have a customer for life.

They had the vehicle twice with them already. Only thing they did was push for modules updates and at the same time hoping it would fix it. However they created more faults with other modules of the vehicle. By the looks of things, they didn't follow the update procedures correctly.

Interesting, which phase do you have of the MG4?

Is your diagnostic tool the vnci one and have you created a report of the vehicle with vds? If yes, and even if you have an intermittent issue, it will be listed in that report as it was for mine.

How long it will take? It depend on the franchisees and their technicians.

I thought I should give an update regarding camera issue and those who have been poorly treated by the MG franchisees.

As it seem like no one can really recommend a dealer or garage that willing take the task of fixing it. I have made additional calls to other dealers around London and by the looks of things not even one dealer here is willing fix under warranty with a vehicle that not even 2 years of age.

I have decided to take my MG4 to a specialist that work on EV vehicle from Geely, SAIC and Tesla. As I have given up with MG franchisees, so I will give these Technician a go at it.

I will update this thread with the work and conclusion over the weekend.

Update;
My MG4 was worked on Saturday for half a day and was returned to me on the same day.

Camera issue: It was looked at along with the wire harness. Technician conclusion is water ingression. The connectors were checked and cleaned. Fault stop for a good while and then decided to return. Needs a new camera replacement.

The other faults (20+ faults) that were shown on VDS. Turned out to be incorrect flashing procedures as I guess it. Technician was really surprised that this was on road with amount of level I & II faults. These so-called MG franchisees should really be better vetted. Can't understand why they are happy to put road users at risk and while bring the MG brand down with them.

My final take on this, if your MG franchise is good and they are looking after you, great. If not, look around and you might find a good garage (a non MG franchise in my case) like I did for at least in North London.

The MG4 overall experience has been a bumpy ride and with the vehicle being reflashed by the garage as I had no confidence doing it myself. Is now like a completely different vehicle, it drives a lot better and a lot more responsive, what else can I ask for!?
