Hi Guys, Is there a third party add on to record the 360° cameras to an SD card on an infinite loop every time you drive.
i.e. old recording deleted to add new ones if the card fills up.
I don't want to watch it as I am driving BUT if there is an accident, or a scam break-check it would be lovely to have the evidence pre-recorded.

I know you can buy dash-cams to do this but that seems insane when I have 360° cameras already installed and working.
Best Paul

It's something I would buy if available. If Tesla can do it, why doesn't everyone?

I did pose the same question sometime last year to MG. They got back (pretty quick!) & suggested I contact the dealer! mmh. Taking that as a no I purchased a DashCam (Amazon) with front/rear cameras. Works well, but irritating given the cables etc.

Most people would buy an option, but I think there was a post last year where someone said MG did not want to get involved in any legal wranglings resulting in recordings being used in any claims, which sounds logical, but if they allowed third party add ons to access their systems then surely the problem would be with that device manufacturer. Having said that I have never heard of any dash cam manufacturers being involved in anything like this anyway and there are millions of them in use daily

I'm sorry but I don't trust these cameras at all. They are great for reversing but why on earth do they fill the touchscreen with useless images every time you stop at a junction? Whatever happened to looking out of the windows if you want to see what is happening? Appropriate technology? NO
It would also be much better if the cameras could be programmed to read speed limit signs correctly. The speed limit recognition is wrong about 50% of the time in my experience

Drove a 25reg rental ford transit today, 360deg cameras and what I though was a nice touch, a standard looking rear view mirror that was actually a video screen showing the rear view in real time.
If you can get the cameras to record (even when not displaying) I think they have a place other than as reversing aids. Prove 'that cyclist' came up your left hand side as you were turning etc..

"That cyclist" was legally allowed to do that. ;)

Stupid to do it? Probably. But that would be their epitaph on their gravestone ... "I had right of way!" :)
